Then, last week I caught a very healthy one trying to drink our pool water. A trap was set the very next day. We trapped two in the last week and man that was an expensive endeavour $400 :sad: Not to mention the stupid air gun my husband bought and decided (correctly) was probably not safe to use in our backyard. Have your husband pee outside everywhere. Seriously. It works for a lot of animals and it can't hurt. Tractor Supply is a local farm supply store near us and we just handled it ourselves - not sure if that's an option or something you even want to attempt?</p> <p>The trap is set up with a metal pan that closes behind them after they enter, so the pan gives you 1/3 of the cage to handle behind it so the raccoon cannot get to you. It was definitely spitting and hissing at us though! One of our neighbors told us, when we first moved in, raccoons like to take a dip and poop in pools. About a year ago I filmed two play wrestling in our backyard. </p> <p>Well in the last month I saw one drinking out of our pool and it left a gift for us inside the pool. Then, I saw it resting between our ceramic planters presumably because they are cool in this heat. My husband has saw it too and thinks it's pregnant. </p> <p>Well today all of the parts arrived for his pellet gun. That's his solution...blind or injure the poor animal. I know once they figure out a way into our attic I won't be so sympathetic, but for now they are just a slight nuisance. How did you successfully get rid of raccoons? </p>
