I had a 8-10 day LP when I got pregnant. I was taking vit B complex as well as vitex. I think the absolute longest LP I had was 11 days.

@Winnie13: mine are just tiny little balls. I think they can be taken orally or vaginally!

I've always had a 9 day LP. I tried bvitamins, bone broth, and acupuncture. Nothing lengthened it. I did end up getting pregnant with 9 day LP, and the RE prescribed progesterone supplements as soon as I got my bfp.

@Winnie13: my doc had me just insert the capsule vaginally, so you might do that. When I did progesterone but no clomid, it didn't change my luteal phase, but I hope it works for you!

@delight: No worries girl! That's awesome that I lengthened LP! I'm praying it does for me! Do you take them orally or vaginally? Is it a suppository?

Thanks for all the responses! My dr. did in fact prescribe progesterone. No pharmacy sells the suppository though, I have to use the capsule instead!

We debated doing acupuncture, but it costs as much as an IUI, so we are skipping it and going straight to an IUI next month!

@travellingbee: Yep, hopefully next month. This month I'm trying vitex and vit b, so maybe that will help? If not, pulling out the big guns next :)

@LAZB: are you going to try clomid again this time?

I had a 9 day LP which I lengthened with B complex and some other supplements from a dietician.

I only got pregnant with my short luteal phase after using Clomid. I was ovulating on my own, but only had a 8 day luteal phase max (usually 6-7). I also did acupuncture, but I really think the Clomid helped with "strong" ovulation, which resulted in high progesterone.

I had extremely long irregular cycles (would usually ovulate CD 26-32), then followed by a short LP. I had very low progesterone. I had to go on Clomid and progesterone and eventually had an IUI which was successful!

I have an average of 7-9 day LP. I got pregnant after 6 cycles with no interventions. I was about to start taking vitamin B but didn't need to. So it was a pretty normal TTC time. My first pregnancy was by accident and I wasn't charting at all.

I had a short luteal phase for several months after a miscarriage in June (8 days each cycle). I did acupuncture with herbs and started a diet that my acupuncturist put me on during that period. My luteal phase extended to 11 days and then I got pregnant in November (which unfortunately also ended in miscarriage). I was encouraged by how much the acupuncture, herbs, and dietary changes helped turn things around for me though.

ETA: My acupuncturist was convinced that I had poor egg quality that was causing the low progesterone so the thought was that if I could improve the quality through diet and increased blood flow through exercise and acupuncture that the progesterone issues would fix themselves. Not sure if that was right or not but things did get better!

@Winnie13: I had a short luteal phase I think due to the stress of trying to conceive ....which therefore caused low progesterone levels. I would start spotting 3 days before my period. I don't think you can put too much weight in too short luteal phases .
After trying some infertility treatments which didn't work, I got pregnant naturally and have a healthy 5 week old! I did use progesterone suppositories the month I got pregnant but that's it.

Have you thought about doing acupuncture? I've heard SO many success stories in women doing that. Also, would you doctor consider giving you progesterone supplementation to help extend your LP? Those are the two ideas that I have currently, since you are already taking B6 and vitamin C. Maybe change to a Bcomplex vitamin instead?

@Winnie13: sorry I didn't see this until now!! I have LP problems myself but have been pregnant. I wouldn't say I'm a success story as I have had losses but I conceived DD with a short LP. The two months before conception my LP was 8 and 9 days. I always spot starting around day 7 too. I did take a vitaminB 100 complex, however, the two months leading up. Now that I am on 200mg Prometrium after O, my LP is 14 days.

Hello!!
I've been TTC for about 17 months now. I went off BC in Aug. '14 and didn't get a natural cycle until Aug. '15. I had my thyroid removed back in Dec. '11 do to Thyroid Cancer and it turns out my thyroid levels were surpressing my ovulation. I tried Clomid and Femara and nothing was working! If I did ovulate, I get my period about 6-7 days later. I had a laprascopy done and everything is fine. No PCOS or Endo. The only thing I suffer from is low progesterone. Once I adjusted my thyroid levels, I started ovulating on my own. The only problem I'm facing now is a short Luteal phase. My Luteal phase is 8 days. It started as 6 and over the months it has grown to 8. It's been consistently 8 days now for the past 3 cycles. I've tried B6 and vitamin C. My gyno wants me to try Femara one more time to see if I get a healthy O. If I do, I will continue with the Femara. If I don't, it off to an RE I go. Has anyone had any success with pregnancy with a short Luteal?
