I was always terrified when my preschoolers would vomit (I was a teacher), but 90% of the time it was excitement or overstimulation vomit, even with the older kids!
So I think you have a fighting chance!

My daughter told me a friend threw up at school on the same day she mentioned he also kissed her at circle time...lovely! This was 10 days ago and (touch wood), she was fine. Hope this is the case for you, too!

There's a chance either way. No sense worrying yet , it's
Going to be what it's going to be. She could have gotten sick already from something totally unrelated, you just don't know. Fingers crossed for you.

Ugh that sucks, I hate all that worrying. Recently it was also noro virus going around, and before that it was HFM at our day care. My friend's daughter was touched, skin to skin, by a kid with HFM but never caught it. It's not a given! Good luck to you!

@2littlepumpkins: fingers crossed and prayers that your DS doesn't get sick your DD gets better quick.

@erinbaderin yeah your probably right. Knowing her teacher I'm sure she was scrubbed and changed quickly. I just hate that she was so close to it.

I don't honestly think some getting on her shirt is going to increase her chances of catching something. As long as it didn't get in her mouth (ugh, so gross!) I think she's not at any higher risk than she already was from going to school with the girl anyway. Fingers crossed for you!

@babybysurprise: I understand. This trip was supposed to be our break from getting sick and snot and (hopefully) the whining and fussing and night wake ups for dd. I'm pretty bummed that were stuck in the house just waiting for lo2 to start fussing and being miserable.

@autumnlove @bandmommy @t.h.o.u. @travellingbee @2littlepumpkins thanks ladies. I'm just feeling discouraged. First she has croup, then an ear infection from the croup which we only caught cause we were at the ER for something else. Then a horrible reaction to antibiotic. This week she is finally herself again. We were all looking forward to a peaceful Christmas. Not that she is going to get sick but My heart just sank when I found out.

I think there's nothing you can do right now but wait it out and see.. There's a chance, kids throw up for other reasons too.

If it makes you feel any better my dd is running a fever (first time in a month and a half and we are out of town, she's not even in school now!) and I'm just waiting for my 2.5 month old to get it. 😭

My understanding is stomach virus are a lot harder to transmit because they have to actually transfer bodily fluids, unlike a cold which can be airborn.

A girl threw up at daycare today and some got on my daughters shirt. They changed her immediately but I so upset that she might be sick for Christmas. Any chance she doesn't catch what this girl has? I know I'm assuming it's a virus and not something she ate. I would assume the odds arnt in my favor on that front.
