@evenstar982: my first thought was, wow that's a lot... I can use part of the saving to convince DH to get a nicer travel system!

@illumina: yep, me too! But I have "done the math" and worked out we'll save over £1000 over 2 years, more if we use them on multiple LOs - so hopefully that's enough to convince DH!

@evenstar982: thanks for the link! Some of those look so cute! I'm pretty sure I want to go down this route, just have to get DH on board!

thanks ladies, thats food for thought... I can't decide whether to start trying to build a stash now, before LO arrives, or wait until after the birth and do one of the trial packs with a range of diapers to try, available from this website:
http://www.fill-your-pants.com/cloth-nappy-trial/nappy-trial.html
(haha I love the site name!)

@illumina: Thats a UK-based site, FYI so seemed a good place to start with researching what's available this side of the Pond :-)

I have 3 CBs and I only use them when the other diapers are dirty. I am not a fan of the elastic adjustment, the front stuff pocket or the snap placement.

@T.H.O.U.: from their site:
"Charlie Banana® 2-in-1 Reusable One Size diapering system uses the same elastic material as the former One Size system, but parents can now adjust the diaper with the no-slip, bra-strap design, making it possible to change the diaper from small to large in one easy step. The sizing adjustment straps are tucked nicely in the interior fleece so no part of the elastic or adjustment system touches baby's delicate skin."

@T.H.O.U.: On the inside mine have a bra stark adjustment you make instead of a snap down rise. Like how FuzziBunz has button hole elastic my CB has a bra strap.

@anbanan15: What do you mean by this? All of my Charlie Bananas have the snap rise adjustment.

"The things I did like about them is the new style has bra strap type rise adjisting instead of button holes."

Like Fuzzibunz, Charlie Banana seems to be a love or hate kind of relationship for cloth diaperers. We really liked our FB so for us it would have probably been a win (though we never specifically tried CB). DS was thing and needed a more custom fit for this thighs vs. waist, and you can make that happen with an adjustable diaper like that, where as you only get a few options on snap-down rise adjustments like BG.

We have used them, but to be honest they are one of my least favorite.

The things I did like about them is the new style has bra strap type rise adjisting instead of button holes. The microfleece liner has also stayed nice after many washings and they are a slightly trimmer fit. I didn't mind the front pocket for stuffing, but some people do not like it. I liked how the flap really covers the pocket opening. However the fit was terrible for us! If you have a LO with chunky thighs they may not work well for you.

I do prefer them over FuzziBunz which are almost identical, especially in fit. I feel like Charlie Banana were a better quality product.

I have a bunch of them. I got them on a flash sale site when I was building up my stash. A few things I like:

1. They come with 2 inserts (both full size) and they seem to be a good quality MF.
2. I love the colors and the quality of the PUL.
3. Inside is super soft and I love the opening in the front with a flap to keep the insert in there.
4. Great fit for a lot of sizes. I unfortunately didn't get the OS but have the Mediums. They are bit tight around the belly (my LO has a big belly but thin legs). I think the OS might be better for this.

Again, overall, I really really really like them!

I have a couple and I really like them, overall. They don't blow me away, but they work well and are trimmer that some other styles of pocket diapers.

Hi ladies,

I'm seriously considering CDing when LO arrives (not sure if we'll do it from NB since this is our first though), and currently I am looking into using Charlie Banana brand CDs; has anyone else had experience with them?

Branded CDs aren't so widely available here in the UK so choice seems a bit limited but Charlie Bananas seem quite easily available so they're currently my top choice...

Would love to hear your opinions/experiences!
