Maybe it's because my DH and I both come from families where it is the norm, or maybe it's that we live in the very socially liberal Bay Area, but I've never received anything but positive reinforcement for breastfeeding, even though my son nursed until 2.5! He didn't come anywhere near us, it wasn't like he almost ran us over or anything, but he felt the need to roll down his window and act like he had. We were three houses down from the corner, on the opposite side of the street from where he was driving, and only a few feet from the grass. It took everything in me to not flip him off when he was like "wow, LO really gets away from you!" And then went on about how he almost hit us. Things like: I should stop breastfeeding, when will I start solids, why do they still sleep in my room and when will I pacifier wean. I really haven't heard much else lately, some genuine questions from friends but not people trying to parent my kids. </p>
