I have. My college roommate is a dermatologist in the city (happy to give you her name) and I totally trust her. I did it right around my 40th birthday near my eyes and I really liked it. It was very subtle, as it should be, but I looked refreshed. I did it a few weeks ago between my eyes because I felt like I was sqinting. It looks nice. It lasts between 4 and 6 months. I think they charge based on how many cc's they use from the vial but it will run a few hundred for sure. Did not hurt at all. It's very preventative if you start early and do it subtly with a good doctor. And honestly I would only do it with a derm not a spa. Dermatologists understand the underlying muscle and facial structure.

@SweetiePie: No. When I posted this, we were entering IF treatment land and it's been that, pregnant or BFing since! I would still consider it though.

@SweetiePie: I bet he wouldn't notice. I mean, unless you do something crazy with fillers. eta: you can read my experience above. My now husband, then boyfriend, was SUPER against it at the time. Like, unbelievably against it. But I went and did it anyway and he didn't notice at all. Didn't even make a "is something different" comment. I told him about 3 weeks after the fact. But as I said above, I definitely noticed a difference, but it was subtle.

@LindsayInNY: Did you ever end up getting this done? I have the 11 between my eyes and lately really notice other wrinkles around my eyes. Want to get it done so badly but my husband is really against any kind of work or maintenance. Even noninvasive kinds. His best friend is a high-end plastic surgeon and would do it for basically nothing. I'm considering just getting it done regardless of what he says. And my body, my choice, right?
Part of me wonders if he even notice.

@mjane: I think the only reason I would go with any sort of online deal is if the company looked good enough on its own. Not any of these med spas that just train whoever to do these procedures.

@LindsayInNY: I just saw this and I would caution against groupon for stuff like that! A friend used it for a similar treatment and the results were disastrous, and she had a really hard time getting the company or groupon to deal with it. Eeek!

I'm curious about this too. I'm getting Botox next week but for migraines. My friend gets it done for her migraines as well and she has a super smooth forehead but it doesn't look unnatural. I must secretly admit I'm kinda excited about getting it done. My 30 birthday is next Friday and I'm getting self-conscious about my forehead wrinkles. I'll take no migraines and wrinkles for a little pain. About cost, my neuro said its $2,500 for it if insurance won't pay but it's for a ton more than is used for cosmetic purposes (25+ shots vs maybe 5 for cosmetic) since she puts it so many places.

@LindsayInNY: it lasted about 6 months. It wasn't crazy expensive but also not cheap. I spent $500+ each time. I stopped going because I was pregnant than breast feeding. But I plan on doing it again once we are done having children.

I've had botox. Just not recently. I had it done twice the year I turned 30...lol. I must have been freaking out about age, even though I didn't feel like I was. Anyway, I'm 33 now so it's been a while.

The results were very, very subtle. No one knew I did it at all, but I noticed a difference. I had a small amount--just in my crow's feet and like two places in my forehead. The results aren't immediate---it takes about 24 hours to feel a bit tighter and then about a week before your skin where the wrinkle was starts to really relax (because you aren't able to squint the same way).

Anyway, it's not like those Hollywood stars with crazy faces AT ALL. Those people are having major work done or a whole lot of filler in the wrong places.

My sister was horrified I did it.....and then a couple years later she did it herself. heh. I'll probably consider it again when I'm done having babies.
