I'm a social introvert and so is DD1 but I think DD2 is 100% extrovert. She only 6 months old but I often look at her and wonder if we will even get along when she is older! lol i never have to worry about her crying or being upset in public. Even since the newborn days she could go 5 hours without asking to nurse of we were in the company of other people. Just being near her sister puts in her in huge giggle fits. I hope I'll be able to manage all of our needs as my kids get older!

I am a social introvert. I love my friends and family dearly and value my time with them tremendously, but I NEED my alone time. If I get home an hour before I need to get J from daycare, sometimes I take that hour to just sit at home and recharge, because my son is so much energy and love and noise and everything haha.

He has also started having regular play dates with a boy in our building, and this past week this boy has been over to play every day. I love that he has such a great friend, and I love that he's happy. I also really like the kid and the kid's parents, but admittedly it can be really difficult for me to have the extra noise and person in my home several days a week. I deal with it, because J is very happy and having fun, and mostly it does allow me to get stuff done with little interruption.

We're pretty introverted, my DH extremely so. My first is very introverted, my second is extremely extroverted. It's very strange to us! I hope we will be interesting enough for her.

I think my daughter could be. But I think DH and I are social introverts. My son is still a baby so it's hard to tell but I think he will be quieter and more sensitive than his sister.

@Ms. RV: haha yes. Our girls are 3.5 and 14 m. DH and I wonder all the time how we have two girls that are so social. The older one is like everyone's BFF at daycare and always has been. She is the one that goes up to the new kid to comfort them and engage them in play. The younger is always laughing and chill at school.

We don't get it. Lol we hate most people. 😂

Oh my gosh yes. My son is 16mo old, and such a social butterfly in public, doesn't know a stranger. At home, the majority of his play has to be with us interacting or by his side or else he melts down or gets whiny/clingy. He was never one of those babies that just quietly observed in his car seat or chair like a lot of my friends have - always needed full attention on deck, and wanted a interactive view. I just collapse most nights at his bedtime drained!! I don't even make project lists or goals anymore for night like I used too. :/ Hoping one day I won't feel so drained every night (and I feel that way on weekdays too even though I work so we aren't together 24/7)

Yep....DD1 is a total extrovert like her daddy. It pushes me out of my comfort zone, because always interacting with new people now, but it's a good thing. I'm wondering if DD2 will be an introvert like her mama!

Both of my daughters are like that, and for the oldest, at least, it didn't mean that she was an extrovert. She's like me - a social introvert who needs time with people, and then REALLY needs quiet time to recharge. My 3 month old is the same as you describe so far, and I imagine she'll be similar.

DD is only 13 weeks but it is quite clear she is an extrovert born to two highly introverted parents. At home, she is restless (but not fussy) unless OH and I are in the same room. If one of us is alone, she is fussy unless she is being held. We went to a family gathering last night, and she was chatty and then relaxed enough to take a deep nap. Same thing at daycare-- they are always commenting how much she loves watching the other babies, how well she naps, how she never cries. She just totally relaxes surrounded by other people!!

So now I'm home alone with LO for the day. I just want to recharge from the gathering last night and she's being super clingy. Can anyone commiserate?
