I haven't used them in relation to BDing, but I've used softcups for during TOM

I haven't found them difficult to get out at all. I find them a lot more comfortable than divacups (which are more rigid). And don't feel like there's any suction at all.

You just have to sort of reach around and hook them with a finger to get them out. Like others have said, your vag really isn't that long...

@Mrs. Chickadee: there are a couple successful softcup bfp stories on HB. Just search. Anyway, I'll definitely be trying this month and let y'all know how it goes.

Not worried about it being stuck at all. I mean ppl use them all the time in place of tampons. Really can't be that hard.

@BakerBee: You're right! I'm always hesitant to try supplements, herbs, etc because I know there can be risks with some of them and I don't want to take them unless I know I should. With Mucinex, I'm not really worried because it's a safe product and I've taken it before. TMI alert: sometimes I do have very thick CM. I always thought it was just EWCM and jelly-like, but maybe it really is too thick. I think I'll try Mucinex next cycle! Can't hurt! And it's easier than having my husband fumble around with a soft cup! ;)

@Mrs. Chickadee: I thought mine was normal too, but decided "why not?" Who knows if it's what made the difference.

@littlek: It helps with CM. I started taking it right after my period and continued until after confirmed ovulation. It is actually prescribed by doctors and logically makes sense to me -- it thins my nasal stuff, why not my down-there stuff (real grown-up talk right there). The way I understand it, the thinner it is, the more able to swim and survive.

My sister had been going through infertility treatments for about a year and I told her I believed it worked for me so she reluctantly tried it (it was her baby sister giving the advice, hence the reluctant part) and it was the month her IUI worked!

@BakerBee: That might be a good idea! I always read about all these little tricks but never know if they REALLY work or when to try them. For example, I've also thought about trying Mucinex but I'm not sure if I need that or not. Like how do I know if I need to thin my CM ( @littlek: I believe that's what it is for!) ? I always thought my CM was normal, but then again, I have no idea what anyone else's is like! What made you think you should try it?

@Mrs. Chickadee: I haven't heard of any, but I was thinking last night that it would be an interesting thread to start asking what each Bee thinks got them pregnant the month they did. Even potentially adding a poll to see if there is some common thing that everyone did.

For instance, I did Mucinex the month I got KU (as did my sister, who had been trying for over a year and had experience 1 failed IUI) and I swear it was the reason I got pregnant.

@Snowdrop: @mrs bunchy: I know, where can it go?! There's only so much space in there! I can only imagine what crazy stories come out of the urgent care, haha!

@MrsTal: I can see how it could be a problem with the suctioning! Your husband was a good sport!!! At least it makes for a hilarious story :)

Has anyone heard any real life stories of these working though? I found some online but I don't know how reliable they are. I'd feel better knowing that someone on HB had success with them or knew someone who did.

Used them for one cycle and hated them, but I was glad to give them a try and see, since they are so cheap.

@Snowdrop: @mrs bunchy: I will go to tmi zone and tell you that the soft cups sort of suction around your cervix and make it difficult to get out. One time DH had to help me. It was terrible.

I personally think that after a while there is something going on that those type of things aren't going to solve but they are cheap and I was considering them for during the day BD to just keep things cleaner!
@mrs bunchy: i've read those stories too but I just can't see how that works, I mean it's not a huge, gaping, bottomless hole haha

I have never tried them, but after googling and reading about having to coax it back out.. I am not so sure! I think I would panic and freak myself out.. what a visit to the ER that would be !

Hello bees!

I'm starting my 7th cycle trying now. I've heard about instead softcups in the past, but figured they were an unnecessary tool. However, I'm willing to try anything this month! Has anybody had experience with these? I swear everytime I google I find loads of women claiming they got a bfp first try using these after many cycles of not conceiving. But I trust y'all more!
