Dd was on a floor bed since birth and it was difficult when she started crawling. We ended up getting those play pen gates and putting them around her mattress. Also put pillows between the wall and mattress so she wouldn't hurt herself.

If your baby is crawling out of the floorbed, than yeah, I'd probably change things up. Can you make his room less interesting? Can you put the floorbed on one side of the room and gate that part off with just the bed and a few books?

I have questions! LL is crawling now, and we had to put him in the pack and play late last nigt (not at bedtime) because he kept bumping his head in the dark. Usually nighttime isn't an issue for wanting to play, but at 10:30 he woke up and had a hard time going back to sleep. He has also been waking up really early (sometimes before 5) and not wanting to go back to sleep. Do we need to call it quits and get the crib back out?
