But I still feel old sometimes! There are many other friends that had kids around the same age as me, some older, and some younger. I always wanted to get married and have kids young, but I didn't even meet DH till I was 26!</p> <p>I think that I *wish* I had kids younger, BUT I believe I was at the exact right point in my life to be having kids. I am currently 37 and my husband is 42 and we are about to have our third. We both feel just tired all the time and like we can't keep up with our kids but after reading others responses maybe that's just parenthood itself! </p> <p>We both enjoyed our earlier years having fun with friends and educating ourselves and I'm glad we got that out of the way but since we got married we kind of felt rushed to start having a family right away because of our age. It would have been nice to enjoy each other and travel more before having kids but I also would change anything either. But once we started we didn't want to drag out the baby stage. </p> <p>I fell like our careers (esp. DH) was not established AT ALL. He finished his AA but I think if we had another year or two he would have went for his BS. I think I took my maternity leave at a crucial point for my career and that was tough. I wish we had completed a few more house projects before daycare took up all our extra cash. But, I graduated from law school at 24, and worked a couple of years before getting pregnant. I'm tired now. I think you'll be tired whether you're 28 or 38! I was very young for my family: the 3 generations before me had kids at 20-21, so my grandma is 75 and my great-grandma is in her mid 90s. I am definitely on the younger side in my college friend circle, and around the same age as my mom friends, with some a few years younger and some a few years older.
