Sorry you are dealing with this...I can relate! I'm currently 15 weeks pregnant and have daily headaches/ migraines. I also had this during my first pregnancy. They come and go randomly and sometimes last for days at a time. I'm trying to drink more water, but the doesn't always happen because it makes my morning sickness worse. Hang in there! I may look into going to a chiropractor as recommended above.

@mrskc: It's been a while since I could find the brand but Target and CVS carry the generic and they work pretty well. As someone who still has nausea pretty bad I found that popsicles (especially lime popsicles for me) can work for hydration if you're not gagging! Or if you're up to it, watermelon.

@MsLipGloss: O.M.G.! How awful! I don't think mine is going to be that bad. Actually just sitting here, I'm realizing it's going away. It's almost completely gone! I'm just hoping it doesn't come back tonight. This one started in the middle of the night. :(

@lemondrop: I normally drink lots of water but I have to be careful with my morning sickness. too much liquid and I throw up! ugh!

@Foodnerd81: hmmm I may have to look into acupuncture! I've suffered from headaches my entire life. They stink!

@spaniellove: Oh I'll have to get some Excedrin Tension headache!

I had a head ache that didn't go away for weeks on end. At 17 weeks I was in my home town for thanksgiving and my best friend was 3 months out of chiropractor college and said she thought she could help. So I went in to see her.. I literally haven't had a head ache since!!! Highly recommend!

For me drinking water like its my job is the only way to avoid them to begin with. I tend to get them frequently in my third tri. The first sign of vision changes and I hit the Tylenol and caffeine immediately. I've been trying very hard to keep a bottle of water in my hand all the time, its been helping quite a but this time around (knock on wood!).

Yes. I had a migraine from weeks 16 to 21. I wish I was kidding. What I ended up taking (after multiple neuro and ob consults) was Fioricet and Benadryl (both together and separately, on a schedule rec'd by my neuro). It wasn't a magic bullet, but it enabled me to function and sleep. Watch out for taking the same meds over and over again (like Tylenol and Excedrin) because that can cause rebound headaches (and they are usually worse). I'm sorry you're dealing with this !

It's funny because the same thing happened to me with #1 around the same time in my pregnancy (13 weeks). It went on for about a week and then I never had another one the rest of my pregnancy. Crossing my fingers that happens this time!

Sounds like I'm just going to have to tough it out!

I had them pretty bad in my first trimester (it got better after that). I was taking the max amount of tylenol (my OB said as long as I stuck to the dosing on the bottle it was ok) and all the other things you mention but I don't have a silver bullet you haven't tried. I felt like I mostly had to just power through until 2nd tri. luckily I wasn't too busy at work . . . it scares me more to think about doing it again now with a toddler.

I had two migraines during my pregnancy. I took a hot bath in the dark and then laid down with a ice pack under my neck. I also drank some coffee and took some Tylenol. And mostly laid in bed in the dark. Feel better soon!

It sucks when they're that persistent! I hated that everyone told me my migraines would probably get better when I got pregnant and instead they got worse. After trying to get by on just Tylenol I went back to Excedrin Tension Headache since it's just acetaminophen and caffeine, no aspirin. Hope you're feeling better soon!

Yes, it was brutal. I ended up doing several sessions of acupuncture and it worked- I've had hardly any headaches since and I did it almost a year ago!

Before that I did occasional Tylenol and caffeine, lots of water, and mostly laying in a dark room with a hot or cold compress on my face.

When I was about 8-9 weeks I was hit with a migraine so hard I was completely out of commission for almost a week. I could do nothing but lay on the couch completely still for days. After it went away I was fine the rest of my pregnancy. My OB ended up prescribing me Percocet when I went for my first appointment at 11 weeks. I thought that was so strange since I had called four times during my migraine to ask what I could do and was told I just had to ride it out. Seemed like a big jump between nothing and Percocet.

Feel better!!

I'm on day 3 of a migraine. I'm so miserable! I can't take my usual Excedrin that usually knocks it out. I've been taking some Tylenol + drinking a little caffeine, but it's only dulling the pain. I've been going to bed early, drinking water & napping. Nothing seems to do the trick.

Anyone have any other suggestions for me?

Did you get migraines/headaches during pregnancy?
