Coated denim usually has no stretch and very little give, so I would go with a 26!

I have 2 pairs of Joe's and I think you'll have to go in and try them out since the two pairs I have are different sizes!
I have a super skinny pair in really soft Japanese denim. size 27. And a pair of torn boyfriend jeans in size 26.

I have one pair of Joe's and had to size up to a 27. I'm usually a 26 in 7FAM, Hudson & Citizens. That said, I have a straightish figure so jeans that fit my hips are often tight in the waist if the rise is on the higher side (like on my Joes). Sorry, I don't have any coated denim so not sure on the sizing there.

I only have one pair of Joes but they do seem to run bigger than my other jeans in the same size. Though I agree with @Mrs Green Grass that I feel like the coated might be smaller/stiffer.

@PrincessBaby: I find that Joes is inconsistent jean to jean. I have a pair of soft demin, and pair of stiff denim in the same size and the waists are inches apart. I wouldn't want to buy them without trying on, unless they were returnable.

I'm also a size down in Joe's but I think it's because the denim is so soft...that wouldn't necessarily be true with coated...they seem like they'd run a bit smaller but I haven't tried them.

I only have one pair of Joe's, and they could obviously vary by style, but my sevens are all size 28 and my Joe's are 27. I would say they run a bit large (or at least the pair I have do).

I am such a Jean Junkie, and I love J Brand and the occasional plain pocket Sevens. I am usually a 26, however I have some Sevens that are super stretchy and I got them in a 25.

I am going to Vegas next month and I want a pair of black waxed/coated skinnies to kind of look like leather. I've never worn coated and I don't know if they tend to run the same as regular jeans. I am eyeing a pair on Poshmark that happen to be Joe's skinnies, but I don't know how Joe's run compared to J Brand, 7FAM, etc...

Anyone have any advice re: coated denim and Joe's sizing?

I can go to Nordstrom rack tomorrow and try on some Joe's but I have both girls today solo so that's a negative for today...
