@TheSwissWifeStyle: YESSSSSSS. omg. I mean, it's dry and it's winter, so my nose is more aggravated than usual but I've had a fair amount of nosebleeds. I did with my first pregnancy, too (also the same season, though). I blew my nose and nicked it the other day with a fingernail and good god, the blood!

I definitely think it's a likely option! It's also easily detected with a blood panel. It also makes you unable to metabolize folic acid, so i'm on a huge rx pill of that. yay.

I was on Lovenox throughout my whole pregnancy, and for 5w afterwards! Baby Aspirin the whole time too. I was diagnosed with several clotting issues, though all minor until put together.

@blackbird: I'm on baby aspirin as well. Have you had a lot of nosebleeds? Apparently it's a pregnancy symptom though, so not sure I can chalk it up to the medicine!

They were never sure the rpl was due to a clotting issue. I never got diagnosed with anything concrete. I trust the doctor that I'm seeing now more than any of the previous ones, so after LO comes in July, I may just get tested all over again just to see. I just always felt they were missing something.....frustrating!

I was put on baby aspirin after my second loss and on it until a few weeks ago (30w). I did find initially lots of bruising when I bumped in to things etc. But it was the blood test bruises that were terrible. I had to keep pressure on my blood draw sites for 10 min after then make sure not to lift anything heavy with that arm. Once I started doing that no more bruising!

Oh that sounds painful :( My MTHFR has been treated with just a baby aspirin, but it's enough to make me bleed more heavily and bruise more than usual. My dr told me if i had another loss in a row (i had two), we'd move to a shot thinner.

If the RPL is due to a clotting issue, then how can a blood thinner not help? There's lots of research to show that a baby aspirin reduces mc loss, so it makes sense than something like clexane/lovenox would be in that same vein.

Will they give you a lidocaine gel for topical pain maybe?

And yes, keep anything from touching the shot site! I learned that the hard way when I got some blood drawn one day, then carried my purse in the crook of my arm, and had this MONSTROUS bruise on my arm. People were asking WTF happened for weeks! The lady who took my blood said to keep all pressure away!

Just wondering how many of us there were?

If so, which one are you on? I'm on Clexane, but I think in the US it's the same thing as Lovenox. (ETA also on aspirin. Here it's called "cardiac aspirin" and it's 100mg.)

How are you doing with the daily shots and how many per day do you have to do? I'm only on one shot a day. They aren't as bad as I thought they'd be, although lately they've been hurting a bit more going in. (The needle itself.) I don't know if it's because my belly's getting bigger and I have less "flab" to poke or what. (I'm 19w.)

Why did you get put on the shots? I had 3 miscarriages. I never really got diagnosed with a blood clotting disorder, but I had some "iffy" tests. I've read online that putting women on blood thinners for rpl does nothing to prevent another mc, but I beg to differ!

How long do you have to be on the shots for? Originally my doc. at the fertility clinic said only through the first trimester. Then my new OB, who is also an RE said to keep taking them at least til April. But I kind of want to just take them the whole time, because I know I'll be so nervous if I have to stop!

Any tips? For me I'd say keep your belly skin moisturized, I find that helps the needle go in/out easier. And don't rub after the shot! I have seen some horrific bruises online, but my bruises really haven't been bad. I only ever got one bad one back around 10 weeks because I happened to do the shot right where the button on my jeans was.
