There is no way I could ever vote for either Sanders or Hilary but the Republican candidates just don't look any good either. It's been pretty frustrating to be a Republican lately.</p> <p>Regarding abortion, while morally I might disagree with it, I would never in one million years argue that it should be banned. That said, people that say they would never vote Republican because of their stance on abortion also bother me. Because I don't see the laws regarding abortions ever been changed. It showed that the numbers of abortion that are performed each year were consistent with the number of abortions prior to the legalization of the procedure. It really opened my eyes that if it were banned, there would be a higher incidence of illegal abortions and decreased access to high quality care. Nobody wants that. I think better sex education programs, access to birth control, reducing stigma of pregnancy - like you mentioned, increased access and education regarding adoption services and pregnancy resources, etc.<br /> Maternity leave is another big ticket item, which is a huge reason why I do like Bernie Sanders. He has an action plan for this and realizes why it's important. He also wants higher quality daycares, access to preschools, etc. </p> <p>It's hard to be torn between two parties - identifying with the stances on one side, but a completely different set on the other side. There really is no middle ground. It's basically a call to arms for both sides. The right and left can both get their bases riled up whenever they need to (like the PP videos). I'd rather step away from the debate (the legality of abortion certainly isn't going to change) and focus on things that really can be changed.
