I'm only hearing positives these days. Thank goodness since I am running on fumes.

Yup, an ex coworker sent me the car seat safety article (which I've seen a million times and am well aware of) after I posted a picture of DD after daycare in her carseat with her jacket on. :meh: I knew as I was posting it someone would think I was a bad mom. I guess I should have captioned it "only driving from daycare to home, less than one mile in our neighborhood, won't go over 20 mph and most likely won't be passing any other cars" I know it's not an excuse and people are shaking their heads... but sometimes I wish people would keep their comments to themselves... LOL

@ShootingStar: Honestly. Sometimes I wonder how did our own parents raise us. My mom is the same way. They seem so clueless with their comments now :P

@Mrs. Sunshine: eeeek. Wow.

For me it was from my BIL. DH and I talked about making good choices with DS a lot. One evening we said somewhere along those lines again with DS and BIL laughed under his breath (which he did also another time). I couldn't help it but snap back and asked, what's so funny about it? BIL said it sounded like propaganda. I was like well what's wrong with teaching my son and instilling the concept of making good choices as it is a crucial part of our lives now and in the future?Why are you making fun of us about that. Should I just tell my son to blindly obey me and listen/do according to whatever I said instead of having his own thoughts? He then shut up. He's a nice guy and DS loves him, but I can't stand people without kids some times.

Well, my husband thinks I'm cruel for enforcing the no food at bedtime rule when our daughter says she's hungry. He created this monster, and now we are dealing with the consequences. She's holding out for a better snack at bedtime and it has to stop. She also uses "I'm hungry" to stall bedtime.

Last week my mom told me I should ask the ped what's wrong with my DD at her 2m appointment. Um, nothing's wrong with her. She's a newborn. She cries when she's tired or hungry.

Oh and when DD was crying because she was ready for a nap, my mom suggested I put her on the play mat to make her happy. I told her no, that would be too stimulating because she needs to sleep. My mom's response was, "you always have such long explanations for her. I just think she's crying." *sigh* thanks mom.

@Mrs. Sunshine: :shocked: talk about back handed compliment!

This was last month but really bugged me. We were at a playground and my 2 kids were playing nicely in the sandbox. There was no one else playing at the time. I was with DH and my mom and we were setting some things down on a picnic table that was not right next to the playground but we had a direct view of the kids and could be there in a couple seconds. Two older women walk up and ask if they're our kids and we said yes. They made a bit of a fuss and walked away saying "parenting is not what it used to be." They were playing in a sandbox, not even climbing on anything and we were watching them! But apparently it makes us bad parents for not hovering over them.

@Mrs. Sunshine: :shocked:

Nothing major. MIL insisting that LO's doctors are wrong for not giving him an antibiotic when he's got a cold/allergies. She still thinks antibiotics are the answer for everything. Last time he had them for an ear infection they upset his tummy and gave him a horrid diaper rash. No thanks!

A few weeks ago my MIL told me that I'll have fewer "problems" with DD2 because I'm "doing a much better job with her." Thanks.
