@Foodnerd81: I have a sailor's mouth. My husband said he was surprised I chose something as tame as butthole. I'm sorry your baby's eardrum burst! Thanks for sharing, it makes me feel more normal!

This was two months ago. LO is wearing huge uniforms to school because she is so petite. The XS fit fine but the Small size hangs on her like a dress. I didn't realize until we got to the store that she was wearing no 👖!! Yah, afterschool she just slips off her shorts and plays around the house in just her shirt. I guess I thought she had shorts on under there. I didn't drive back home and just stuck her in the cart in her long shirt and covered her with my jacket like a blanket!! That was the funniest fail we have had around here.

@JoyfulKiwi: my 3 year old told my 10 month old to shut up in the car the other day. Honestly I'm not even sure who she heard it from, me or dh. Also a few weeks ago she said "god dammit" and I know she got that one from me.

Oh and her first ear infection her ear drum DID actually burst, sometime between me making the appt in the morning and going to it in the afternoon. Poor baby.

My 9 month old had a double ear infection for several days and I was crabby with her because she was so cranky. I wouldn't have even known if she didn't have her wellness check scheduled. Those poor eardrums would've burst!

I called my 4 year old a butthole last night because he wouldn't stop arguing with me. A serious low point as a parent. :meh:

Balancing toddler activities and schedules and baby two nap schedules is still a big struggle for me. Toddler has a class during baby's naptime on Mondays, so instead of putting baby down as soon as we got home, I tried to have her power through until afternoon nap so she would take a really good one. Nope- less than an hour. Managed to nurse her back to sleep, only to wake her up by accident when I looked at the monitor at her big sister (who was still asleep). It was a long afternoon.

@avivoca: my baby is 10 months old and I still majorly struggle with this. She can be really annoying, but she's 3. I'm the adult who chose to have another baby. It's so hard!

So many fails. DD recently fell out of bed while cosleeping and walked around with a bruise on her face for a week.

As for DS, he fell on his face at a birthday party, and I was busy with DD and sent DH to console him... apparently he wanted mommy, so he flipped out even more and they both threw a mantrum. Then I had to get them both calmed down. Party ruined.

I've also broken DS's favorite pencil sharpener because it was on the floor and I picked it up 20 times that week, but the 21st time I didn't see it and stepped on it.

@Mrs. Sunshine: I don't think that is a fail at all. I think kids need to learn sometimes they get something and other times their sibling does.

Not exactly the same, but just after pulling a dresser drawer out on himself, DS almost stuck a screwdriver in an outlet. We just bought lots of sliding outlet covers....

I feel so bad for snapping at my three-year-old so much. I'm busy with the newborn and she is just whining so much, plus all of the regular drama. I'm tired, sore from birth, and have little patience right now, but I am actively trying to be better to her because it's not her fault her entire world changed last week.

Aw, you're not alone. Our recent "fail" was deciding to a family-only birthday 3rd birthday party for DD. I figured we could still get away with not inviting preschool friends this year since she's still young. Within the 2 weeks before and after her birthday, we then received invites to 5 other birthday parties from kids in her class. Oops.

The other night DH and I were out and we bought DD1 (3) a soccer ball. We came home and gave it to her. The next day it occurred to me that my poor DD2 (18 months) watched us give her sister the ball and we had nothing for her. I'm so used to it not mattering that it didn't even occur to me to pick something up for her until it was too late! I went ahead and bought her some Halloween window clings to make up for it though. I still feel bad. My poor baby. Any recent parenting fails?
