@chopsuey119: if I could afford it and I were you I would totally hire help 2x a week!! Then you can nap, clean, cook, just spend time with one LO, run errands etc... Heck if I could afford it I would hire help once a week just with one LO!! haha

good luck!!

when DD2 was an infant, DD1 went to preschool 3 days/week. the other 2 days, i had both of them at home with me. we would go to the library and ballet class on those days. it was tough, but having a routine/schedule kept us busy. i had a housekeeper come weekly and i ran errands with the baby while DD1 was in school.

over the summer i had two kids with me 24/7. they were older though, but i still needed some "me" time so I had a babysitter/mother's helper come in 3x a week for about 3 hours/day. she entertained the older one or watched the younger one, so I could get one-on-one time with each kid for once and/or go do errands faster.

ditto everyone's suggestions for getting help and/or starting your DD in part-time nursery school!

I'd ditto possibly enrolling your DD in preschool for a couple half days. It will be a really good opportunity for her, and it will give you a little break.

I started my SAH career once DS was born, but DD continued going to daycare twice a week. Once DS was 3 months old, he started joining her those 2 days, but this the last month we'll be using daycare. As of December 1, I'll be a fullt-ime SAHM of two (DD 2.5; DS 8 months), but since the kids are a little older, I think I can handle it now.

@chopsuey119: Yea I would have things all set up and ready to go in an "activity closet/shelf" so you can just grab her something to play and then do what you need to do.

I've even packaged up little things of new crayons with a fresh coloring book.

@Thehistoryofus: good idea..! Thanks! Lo plays independently really well, but only for 10-15 mins at a time. I'm thinking she may be super needy when baby arrives..
At least my newborn won't remember anything for a while. :P

I would definitely either hire a babysitter for a few hours a day (mostly to entertain M with projects and outings?) or put her in a preschool-type daycare for a half (or full) day on the days you are alone with both!! Juggling the two would be possible, I'm sure, but M might get jealous seeing you tend to the baby all the time? Those 4 days a week with the whole family together sound awesome though :)

What about preparing lots of toddler activities that she can do by herself. Things like crayola painting, mini laptop, playdough, etc.
