@littleveesmommy: We used evenflo glass bottles. Not as wide as some others, but you can get wider nipples than the standard ones they come with. We didn't have a single one break on us, and about half of ours were from when I was a baby :) They are thicker than some of the other brands, which is nice. If you are worried about breakage, there are a lot of silicone sleeves on the market. But we never needed them since my kids didn't self feed.

I agree that I would be deterred by an opaque bottle.

We use glass Dr. Browns and I *love* them. We have never had a crack or break, even though DD likes to throw her bottles these days. They make a silicone protector, but we never use it.

@MerryC: Hmm that's a good point! The bottle we get would be used full time during the work day by baby's caretaker so maybe I need to think about this. I do like glass bottles but DH isn't convinced (afraid easy to break). Which glass did you use?

I saw the kleen kanteen bottles in a shop recently and was intrigued. We used glass with ours and I liked it a lot. My main issue with a lot of cups/bottles is that I like to see how much is in there, so I like translucent materials. Kind of a little thing, but we keep tabs on the kids intake and it was much easier with marked glass bottles than having to open the lid and see what's left. If you were only occasionally going to use a bottle, it'd be no big deal though!

I am delving into the world of baby gear research again and very intrigued with stainless steel baby bottles! I was considering switching to glass (used Tommee Tippee with DD) but then I saw OrganicKidz and Kleen Kanteen both make stainless steel bottles with a wide-based nipple. I chose the Tommee Tippee with DD to more closely mimic BFing and wanted to choose another with a wide nipple. The OrganicKidz has a very interesting designed nipple that I think I would like but... has anyone had any experience with these bottles? Pros? Cons?
