@Ajsmommy: @SweetCaroline: @crazydoglady: @thepaperbutterfly: Thanks for your replies, all. I spoke with the nurse and she thinks it's teething related. I suppose I could've just waited for her call, but I wanted to talk to someone about it and I don't have any friends with little kiddos to be like, "um, can we talk about my baby's poop please?" XD

Isn't it wild what teething will do to a kid? I don't remember much about losing teeth, etc., but gosh it's been hard on my LO.

My baby's poop changes to a much lighter tan when he is sick. It's also much looser. I talked to the advice nurse and showed her a picture. She said that it was within the realm of normal and when babies are sick they swallow lots of mucus, which can change the color of their poop. Low grade fevers can be a sign of teething although my son had a temp of 100-102 for like 5+ days. We took him in and they just said it was some sort of viral cold, and it went away. If you are in doubt just call up your doctor's office and see if they have an advice nurse or if you can send a message to the doctor and see what he says. I should mention that my son got sick with a viral cold and got an ear infection. Poop was light tan and runny, but what worried me the most is he stopped eating and drinking. Apparently he had a bad ear infection even though he had no outward signs. My daughter's poop didn't change color when she got sick, but my son's does, which is kind of weird. Guess some of it might be related to the bacterial flora in their gut.

I know this is random, but I would suspect an ear infection in my kid.

I'm completely confused by DS right now and don't really have any friends with kids to ask. DS is 7 months and drinks a lot of bm and formula, around 30-35 oz. a day. He also has started baby-led solids in the past few weeks.

For the past week, he's run a low-grade fever at random. 99.8, 100.1, 100.3 (the highest it's been). He's also had a TON of poops every day. Four, five, six even. They're not runny, but loose, with the usual breastmilk seediness. This morning's was pale yellow, almost whitish. They smell awful. He's fussy in the afternoons, and clingy, but otherwise doesn't really act sick per se. The fever comes and goes, always in the afternoon, always gone by bedtime and not there in the morning.

I can't figure out if the fever is related to all the pooping, is the pooping just part of starting solids, is the fever because of teething...I'm at a loss. I myself am having stomach issues ever since I had food poisoning a couple months ago, so maybe I'm giving him something?! I just can't figure it out. I do have a call in to his dr to chat about it all, but thought I'd see what you Bees thought of in the meantime.
