I started this thread a few weeks ago and got some good recs. http://boards.hellobee.com/topic/need-recs-for-toddler-disciplinebehavior-book-for-18-month-old#post-1672898

I REALLY like the positive discipline book for various reasons. I used to think M was doing things just to drive me crazy on purpose (playing in the dogs food after repeatedly telling her no, etc.) but this book explained age appropriate behaviors very well. Some of the key things that have helped me are: I ask her to help me with EVERYTHING. It takes longer to do, but she really enjoys having the power to do stuff to help. For instance, M starts playing with dog food...I ask her "hey, M, do you want to help me put some water in doggies bowl?" she will immediately stop doing the undesired behavior and help me do the new task, which distracts her enough to forget about playing with dog food, etc.

M is also very spirited, opinionated, and stubborn lol...which will be good later in life, but I def needed ways to deal with the toddler stage now! Sorry for the novel :)

I recently downloaded Jo Frost's Toddler Rules (Supernanny) and The Whole Brain Child. I haven't read them yet but my son is a very spirited and sensitive kiddo!

We are struggling a little bit with A's toddler behavior and tantrums and DH and I are wanting to read a couple of books since our current approach isn't working, we have a very spirited child! Any recommendations are appreciated!
