@grizz: yay!!! i'm so glad it worked for you! i can't tell you how many times i've relied on that trick to get her to nap. it saved my sanity!! now that she's older and more aware of her surroundings, she doesn't fall for it anymore. she'll pull the blanket down and look at me like i'm crazy. haha. gotta find some new tricks!

@dolphin: Winner winner chicken dinner! I put him in the carseat, strapped it in the BOB, turned off all the lights in the house, and just rolled. My little peanut is sound asleep!

I use to put DD in her carseat (on the stroller) and put a light AA swaddle blanket over the car seat so its dark and I would just roll her back and forth, back and forth. She would usually pass out and take a nap in there. Worked like a charm for us. Now that she's older that trick doesn't work anymore. :(

:( I wish I had more than just happy thoughts to send you. J was sooooo difficult. We drove one time and I had to literally shake the carseat for him to calm down. Ugh. :(

Does C like the bath? Our C loves the bath. He could be screaming his face off, and the minute his butt touches the water he is in a trance. Maybe that could help calm him before you try swaddle and nursing again? Other than that, I am useless!

I don't know if this would work for C, but when B gets overly tired and inconsolable I slow dance him to sleep. We go in his room, turn off the light, and turn on mellow music (for some reason, "Highway Don't Care" by Tim McGraw works like a charm!) and dance. I hold him really tight and kiss his head. He calms immediately and is asleep within 2-3 songs. It works every time.

Good luck!

As others said, I think try a drive, baby wearing or random - the sound of the blow dryer! Worked for my LO. Didn't necessarily make him go to sleep right away but calmed him down. Will your lil guy relax if you lay him on your chest and rub his back? Other than that I've for nothin'

@grizz: there was one day that he didn't take a nap longer than 10 minutes from like 8-5. I thought my brain was going to explode I was so stressed. He lived! I remember stop/starting the brakes at stoplights because stopping completely would wake him up (if he had actually fallen asleep in the first place). Hang in there!!

Sometimes I just take him out of the "go to sleep mode" and go play for a minute or two to reset. Then we start over again and try the sleep tricks. Or if he's just not having it, I sit down on the glider and hold him, talk to him and let him cry. He eventually will calm down, but at least he's crying in a loving situation.

Holding him tight works when he's overtired. Obviously not like death grip lol but just wrapping my arms around him snugly and talking to him works. Also coaxing him to take the paci sometimes works.

Hope he zonks soon!

@scg00387: @sera_87: DH just packed us up and we're driving around. He starts up again at every stop sign and stoplight but I'm hoping he'll fall into a deeper sleep.

Yesterday he napped like a champ! Today I don't know if I should call our pediatrician or an exorcist.

So far we've comfort nursed, had a bath with dim lighting, played white noise, rocked, bounced, sat in the swing, burped, swaddled, and cuddled. He hates pacifiers, so no dice there. My bag of tricks is empty, but I've still got a screaming kidlet on my shoulder while I wear a path walking down our hallway over and over. I'm so sad for my little guy. Help!
