Oh boy, I wish I knew the answer to this. I normally have childcare, but she had to leave today unexpectedly, and I honestly don't know how you mamas with no help do it. Trying to juggle work and baby was too much for me - luckily, my DH walked in early from work and I basically gave him the baby immediately to get back to work.

I WAH part-time and am onsite one day a week on my husband's weekday off. Between the two of us, there isn't really a need for daycare, plus we are trying to save money not using it. It was definitely much easier before C got very mobile. I really miss the two nap days!

I do the majority of my work during naptime and after he goes to bed. This of course limits my free time with my husband in the evenings :(

I've been feeling like a runaway train lately, so one of my priorities is to schedule myself better. I set days to get certain objectives done knowing that specific days will just be crazy, and I can't change that. But after the crazy days, I make sure to block off other days to be work free and devote them only to my family. On the less crazy days, I make sure that my son and I go out and do something fun to make the most of it.

I WAH and LO goes to daycare half days. I would not be able to work much, other than nap time, if he were home all the time. I'm a translator so I need to be able to concentrate. Can you hire help for a few hours a day or is part time daycare an option?

Me. Just blogged about it:

http://www.hellobee.com/2013/08/15/being-a-part-time-wahm-a-reality-check/

I wish I had tips, but I don't think there are any magic fixes. I'm likely going to have to get a regular sitter a couple days a week once the baby is here.

i just transitioned two months ago to FT WAHM with my photography business. it's tough, but i've been making it work. as i go into busy season, i'm really trying to buckle down and make sure i have set hours for work. it makes it easier for me to turn it off when it's not in those hours... and i'm hoping it makes it easier for me to turn it on during those hours! :)

I have no advice. I was a WAHM with no childcare, and it worked out while he was sleeping but then as he woke more (4-5 months) I just couldn't do it.

I ended up waking early, and working while he was still asleep.....then working after FI came home and on the weekends.

@Lindsay05: I did for 12 months. In the beginning when he slept a lot, it was easy! By the time he was 15 months, I felt guilty for winding while he was awake. He just wanted to be attached to me. I basically got up a few hours before he woke up and worked and worked during his naps. It's doable, but can be trying at times. And there was definitely a guilt factor. I would wonder if I was doing him wrong by trying to be home with him, or if he would have been better off in daycare.

I own my own business and do part time work from home. So far I have been able to do all of my work with LO being at home with me. However, I feel guilty pulling out the laptop and trying to get stuff done. I do try and get lots done when she is napping but 2 hours a day just isnt always enough.

Anyone work from home while still trying to parent? Give me your tips please :)
