@lawbee11: @hilsy85: Good to know! Thanks for saving me some research time ladies! Guess I'll need to look for another travel compatible convertible car seat! We travel every year during Christmas so travel compatible is a must!

@lawbee11: We have the safety first guide 65 that we bought specifically for airplane use/travel. We used it in mexico and it seemed fine! I didn't install it at all (other people did) but it seemed relatively easy to install with a seatbelt. It was also only $80 at walmart, and I like that it seems padded and comfy for lO.

@Alivoo01: we looked at the cosco scenera as well and TBH it seemed Soooo cheap (I mean it is, but it seemed cheap). Mainly because there was zero padding in it--I can't imagine it would be comfy, but then again we were looking for something for travel so wanted it to be as comfortable as possible.

What about the Cosco Senera (sp?) that everyone raves about? It's cheap and ppl say it does its job. I don't have personal experience with it, but am considering in purchasing for DH's car since he only does pick up a few times a week.

@sandy: Thank you for your input...I'm so glad you like it! Yeah, I think it's rated in the top 10 convertible car seats on Amazon. Definitely leaning towards that one :)

@lawbee11: I feel dumb because I just reread the thread and you already mentioned the coupon hehe :) Yeah: I'd DEF pass on the Safety 1st. Trust me. I *tried* to love it (because I got it for $99) but there was just too much to hate about it. I'd stick to either the First Years of the Evenflo!
oh p.s: the blue one is (can be) girly too! and the black and white polka dot one. My mom bought E the blue one and it is more like an aqua color. So pretty. I think it may be easier to sell later on down the road if you had a gender neutral seat, just food for thought.

@CupQuakeWalk: Yeah, that's another reason I was leaning towards the Evenflo...the Safety 1st looks really bulky and I prefer the look of the Evenflo. With the 25% off the Evenflo is only $75!! But I do like that the First Years seat comes in black & hot pink

@lawbee11: omg AND diapers.com has a 25% off everything coupon going on right now! That makes the seat only $145 I think.

I have no experience with the Evenflo but the Safety 1st Guide IS huge and bulky and the plastic is just...not safe feeling.
We had it for a few week before I sold it on CL.
I was trying to save money too, because LO only rides in DH's car every blue moon, but honestly, I wish I would've never bought it.

http://www.diapers.com/p/the-first-years-true-fit-convertible-c680-naturalization-natural-black-khaki-803273

^^Try The First Years one. My mom has it and it makes me kind of jealous! We have the Recaro in my car and the combi coccoro in dh's sports' car, and my mom has the first years one but I wish it was mine instead!

@swurlygurl: I have an SUV and the Diono is super slim so I may not have an accurate view of the fit (I can't remember how wide/bulky infant seats are) but there is a lot of room bw the two car seats in the back of my car. I think if the evenflos were forward facing it would probably give you more room for the infant seat too

@lawbee11: we have the evenflo as our spare convertible car seat. Our primary car seat is the Diono Radian which is super heavy. We bought the Evenflo when we traveled across the country to visit family bc we had such a bad experience with using the rental car company's car seat on a previous trip (disgusting, old, completely worn of padding, expensive)...it was cheaper to buy the evenflo than to rent a car seat.

It is SUPER lightweight...like I can't even compare to our Diono...but that makes it easy to move around and AWESOME to travel with. It is easy to install and my LO had no problems with it. It has a nice shape to it...not huge or bulky and I felt like my LO was kind of cradled in it more than in her Diono. Ours is an older model I think (we bought it in 2012) but I really like that the angle adjuster is attached to the car seat. I felt like it fit great in the rental car, in my husband's Prius, and in my car. The reason I think it's so much cheaper is it's quite a bit smaller than the Diono so I could see my LO outgrowing it a lot sooner. Right now I'm using it in my car with the Diono so we can do pick up and drop off for a friend's LO who is 3 years old and she fits comfortably in it (but she's kind of a peanut). There is still tons of room with the two car seats in the back

@Silva: I looked into the Britax, but I found the Evenflo and Safety 1st for 25% off, so that makes them less than 1/2 the price of the Britax. You'll love the Pria :)

@Foodnerd81: The combi is a great compact seat, but most babies outgrow it before they're ready to move out of a convertible, so you end up buying another convertible in a few years. Plus it's $$$ compared to these other 2. I'm trying to find one that will last until she moves to a booster.

ETA: But it was a good thought! Diapers.com is having a huge sale on convertibles if you're in the market for one.

I haven't researched convertible seats yet, so I'm more throwing this out there to see if it makes sense-- would it be better to get a seat that would work well for travel (I hear about the combi corroco one?) for your car? That way you have it if you travel but can use it every day for the short trip.

We only have one car anyway so we will just be getting whatever fits!

Don't have experience with either of those, but we just got a britax roundabout for our lesser used car, and it seems great. The reviews were good too. It was recommended by car seats for littles.
We are installing our pria this weekend, glad to hear you like it!

Anybody have either of these convertible seats? I'm looking to get a less expensive convertible car seat for my car as LO only rides in my car from daycare to home (3 miles) each day. We have the Pria in my husband's car and love it, but I can't justify spending the money on another one as she's rarely in my car.

I'm leaning towards the Evenflo as it is highly-rated on Amazon, but would love to hear from people that have actually used these seats. Thanks!
