We were just talking about this yesterday. Her OB recorded her "tiny bit of spotting" as a period when she went in for her first appointment and has had her 2-3 weeks behind in her pregnancy than what she thought she was. When she went in because of contractions at "30 weeks" (actually almost 33 weeks), the OB finally realized that she was right. I didn't know what it was at the time but about 5 days before i took a pregnancy test i noticed some light pinkish spotting after sex. I first noticed some very faint brown when I wiped 4-5 days before I got my BFP. Then a few days after that I had some more brown spotting. This time more noticeable and it was there for a few hours then went away and I haven't had another speck of blood since. My doc said it was probably implantation bleeding. Good luck to you! I know that personally, a few days before my missed period, I was getting crampy (like you described, not as bad as menstrual cramping), but I just thought it meant my period was on it's way.
