My mom has to rotate call for her department at the hospital. She used to have to carry a pager and it was the "in" thing. Whenever she got a page it just had a number to call so she'd have to track down a phone. I guess that was the early form of texting. I really have to laugh at the memory. </p> <p>And a couple of my friends' parents also had fax machines at home so we would fax letters to each other.
