@Weswife: thanks!!! I lost 6 pounds before our positive. If you think it would help, I would definitely try. If anything, you will feel better. Also, tell your husband that he is responsible for his own meals. You will have enough on your own plate with your meal plan  I don't remember if I said this, but I also did the 21 day fix and felt like that is a good portion of what helped me to drop the weight/kick my butt in gear.

@OldpuebloJenn: I was the only one who went to the appt. She didn't suggest the diet. I was just researching on my own and figured it could only help. I just wish he was fully gung ho! 😞...

@Weswife: I gained 20lb after my m/c, so I get it. I lost about 8 right before conceiving. My husband got mega on board after we saw a fertility specialist.

@OldpuebloJenn: This is where I am struggling. I am trying to get my husband on board too, but for him to change as intensely as myself is hard(he's willing, but not both feet in). I had a m/c in Dec. and have been trying since with no luck. I don't know if a diet will change the baby status, but with all the stress from trying and the m/c I have packed on some pounds.

My acupuncturist put me on a diet that closely resembles the anti-inflammatory diet, which is supposed to help with egg quality. The parameters of my diet can be found here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B1OR-GYGDpbScl9jSDhRT2U1Ukk/view but the biggest takeaways were to eliminate sugar and flour.

I did get pregnant 2 times under her care (after nothing happening for 6 months) and am now currently 18 weeks.

Both my husband and I did fertility "diets" prior to getting pregnant. The first time we had zero trouble getting pregnant but had cut out all alcohol, sugars, and were eating more plant based. The second time we had a m/c and several months of ttc, we followed the same diet, although honestly, alcohol was harder to kick as the months wore on.

I did not, even though I looked into it because I have PCOS. But because mine wasn't insulin resistance, I was already eating healthy and exercising 3-4x a week, and at a healthy weight, I felt like the stress a strict diet would create for me would negate any positive effect.

That said, if you're looking to make a healthy change anyway, it sure can't hurt.

Also, I got pregnant on my second round of Clomid at 50mg. For me, it was a miracle drug with very little side effects. I love Clomid! I know not everyone has that experience, but I ovulated both times and the second time stuck. I'm 26 weeks. Rooting hard for you!

I cut out as much gluten as I could before my fet. I don't know of any specific intolerance, but I did feel so much better. Additionally, the month before transfer I did a cleanse for a week through my acupuncturist. It consisted of no meat, dairy, gluten, sugar, etc. I basically had smoothies, lots of fruits and veggies and quinoa. I truly believe all this helped as I finally received my first faint positive after almost 3 years yesterday. Hoping it sticks!!

Eta-I also cut out as much dairy as I could. So for smoothies before transfer, I used almond milk.

I did the Whole 30 during my IVF cycle and I did get pregnant. Not sure if the diet had anything to do with it, or if it was just a coincidence.

Both times I got pregnant, I was doing a 6-week weight loss challenge at the gym. I did not have any fertility issues (we were TTC #1 and #2 was a happy surprise), but in general, I think being healthier was really helpful for me.

Good luck!

If you have PCOS, decreasing carbs makes sense.

I gave up gluten, but because of celiac and MTHFR.

If there's something "wrong" that diet will fix, I think it makes sense to cut foods. Otherwise, just focus on eating healthy

Those fertility diets didn't apply to me. I tried everything. My infertility wasn't as simple as changing my diet.

I think if you are trying to be healthier, go for it.

I am starting clomid this month and was doing some research (this seems to be a problem of mine) when I saw fertility diets. There are so many out there and they are all so different I was wondering if any bees have done any. What did you eat, cut out? Did your husband do a diet with you? Did it seem to help improve anything?

Currently, I am thinking it will help improve overall health and make me feel better. And if in the end it helps with a baby I am all for it! Please let me know what ya'll have done.
