i did when A was just born and then would go on the occasional walk with my ergo, but now that i'm pregnant it's uncomfortable, and i like being able to put A in a stroller and attach all my things to it and not have any extra weight on me. i will try more with #2..

i also just never knew when to wear her. only when we are out somewhere instead of using the stroller or when she's fussy and i'm trying to get stuff done around the house? other than that i didn't know

I only did around the house when she was fussy and I had to get something done, like cook dinner or clean because we had people coming over.

But I also didn't have a good carrier--I'm hoping to get a better carrier and use it more often with LO #2--I feel like I'll have to, to be able to chase Lo #1 around the playground. Otherwise I would have to leave the infant in the stroller alone? Or try to roll the stroller after my toddler, who would be running everywhere? I'd rather just be wearing the baby.

Not much, as a plus size mom it has been really hard to find carriers that fit and are comfortable and lo started hating it at about 5 months.

I only did a handful of times. I have an ergo & a bjorn (preferred the ergo) but wearing just wasn't really my thing. Between it being cumbersome, eventually hurting my back and the fact that even if I wore one I'd still have another baby to contend with, just wasn't really for me. It was helpful a couple times but overall wasn't my thing.

I did absolutely zero, I don't even own a carrier! There was nowhere that we went really where it was more convenient to carry her. Because she was born in the fall, and we have brutal winters,
She pretty much had to be bundled up in her prime baby wearing months

With this LO I might invest in a carrier and try to carry around the house - I can see the appeal in that now that I will also be chasing after a toddler !

I really wanted to but I think being a first time mom, I felt like he was never secure, and he never seemed to like it that much. Between both of those factors, I never pushed it. If I have another, I would love to try again.

I didn't do much, especially with LO2. We don't have a car, so I walk everywhere or take public transit and it was less practical for me to wear the baby plus carry a bag and manage a toddler. I get hot and my shoulders get tired if I wear them more than half an hour at a time.

I never even attempted to try one out because I am hot natured and sweat easily. I just imagine it to producing extra body heat which will make me uncomfortably sweaty. I had a summer baby and she loved sleeping in her stroller so it worked out fine.

I want to wear her all the time but have only been able to a few times. Its just too hot here. If we are going somewhere super air conditioned or it is under 80 outside I will wear her. She gets sweaty and hot so fast, and I worry with this stupid hot weather all the time I will never be able to wear her.

I babywore DD for about 2 months and then she got too big and stopped. I ended up buying a tula toddler when she was 2 because I solo parenting to Flordia and we were talking a late flight and I knew I would not be able to maneuver on my own. I've been using the carrier when I take her to daycare since its a bit of a walk from the bus, but now I have her walk so we might be retiring the carrier soon.

I never tried to. My DS was almost 10lbs at birth and 21" long so he was already hard to manage. Plus it was hard to get him in and out of it I thought I'd drop him! LOL My DH wore him a few times doing house chores.

I feel like LO would have enjoyed it as a tiny newborn, but we spent 7 weeks in the NICU. By the time he was home he preferred to be carried so he could see everything!

Pretty much. LO was born during a bad winter. I didn't understand how to keep him warm enough, and I was afraid of falling on the ice (which happened to a friend of mine). I also have a recurring shoulder/neck injury. So all of those issues meant little babywearing. My husband wore him more. Part of my thinking was--hey I carried him for 9 months, now it is your turn!

Basically. Lo didn't like the sling I had but it was ill fitting and I was clueless. Then by the time the ergo could really work she hated being worn. I got her used to it for awhile and that was nice but by awhile I mean a month or two.

Eta we kept the ergo with the infant insert (not a fan of the insert) and I just ordered a ring sling for lo2. Really hoping to baby wear more since I'll have my hands full with lo1.

I wore C a TON, but I think a big part of that is that we walk everywhere. If we drove it was easier to take the car seat out and put it in the snap and go. But if we were walking or taking public transportation, it was much easier for me to put her in the carrier at home.

But aside from that, I guess it is out "thing"- she very happily climbed into the carrier herself until 20 months. She's a snuggly kid.

I've done very little baby wearing. I have an Ergo and I took Xander for walks a few times when he was a baby and then again when we did an outdoors outing when he was 9 months, but that was pretty much it. And with Logan, I think I've worn him in the Ergo all of twice? It's just not really our thing.

I wanted to baby wear, but it just never worked out for us. I had a crappy carrier at first and then finally got a Moby, but she got really heavy, really fast and didn't love being carried all the time.

I wish I had invested in a structured carrier, but it probably wouldn't have gotten a ton of use anyway. I think if I stayed home it would have been a good buy.

How did baby wearing go for you? Anyone not really do too much of it?
