We're across the country from our families. I've been really bummed about it. I've always spent the holidays with my family. I know they're all together enjoying a big meal together and we're here doing a whole lot of nothing. The last few holidays have been really hard.

We live far from family too. But we went to church which was great and I'm loving having a nice Sunday with hubs and baby girl.

We live far from our families too so it's just DH and me. I'm still making Easter dinner because I love to cook.

We are 8 hours away from nearest family members, but we have friends in town who might as well be family, so a quiet day an dinner with friends. Plus, I'm not really working except for answering emails. Double awesome!

We live overseas but we had a lovely day since it was A's first Easter. Really nice chilled out dinner just the 3 of us. We Skyped family to get a taste of the chaos but am glad we didn't have to deal with it in person, much as I love our families!

We are. Just the nuclear family, anyway. MIL got sick, and oldest woke up with a cough, so we were just relaxing at home today. I sorta liked it!

DH is on an annual boy's vacation to Spring Training in Florida. So, my holiday has consisted of a frozen pizza and school work. Been pretty bummed about it.

Aw, I hope you're not too lonely...try to enjoy it! I understand how it's easy to get sort of homesick on days like today when you're far from your family.

I really would not have minded being on our own for Easter today. DS has been on a perpetual sugar high all weekend, cause people kept giving him candy, and it crashed today, at my mom's house. He was sooo moody and all the extra holiday stuff, on top of the holiday stuff we had been doing all weekend, just made the bubble burst, and we went home early, cause of a ridiculous tantrum.

It might have been better if we had just had a nice quiet dinner at home.

I live 16 hours from my family too. It's just been me and DH today. Usually I would cook a meal for us, but we're too busy finishing up projects before we have a ton of company at the end of the week. I keep forgetting it's Easter.

Moving to a state away from both of our families (like a 16+ hour drive to either family) has it's pros and cons. Mostly pros if you met some of DH's family! But... it does suck to be alone on Easter! For me it's truly ALONE alone, because DH works on weekends. We got to spend a few hours together doing nothing this AM before he left for work at 1pm.

I love our independence but miss having a nice family-made meal and conversation on holidays! What about you all?
