@lisa1783: Haha me too! I'm so glad to know there are other mamas out there with older toddlers that are still sleeping with them :)

No, if we try (and he's not sick) he won't sleep for HOURS. I can't handle it. If he's sick, he will sleep with us, but then I don't sleep well because I'm so worried about him.

We do as needed. She'll fall asleep in her bed and we'll bring her over if she cries or wakes during the night. I don't mind and everyone sleeps better! I love me some cuddles.

A little bit? DD has her own twin mattress and one of us will usually lie with her until she falls asleep. Cuddle time! Sometimes she wakes in the middle of the night and we'll go in again.. There have definitely been a few times when we've fallen asleep next to her and stay there til morning.

@lawbee11: that's exactly why we had to get her back in her bed in the beginning! when she was sleeping with us from the getgo she would not sleep unless we slept too with all lights off. we would be fine with her sleeping in our bed from the beginning if she allowed us to keep a small table lamp on so we could read or browse the web to unwind in some way at the end of the night... but it never happens. not having any downtime at the end of the day makes me a cranky, overwhelmed mommy - it's not good for anyone!

Yes, and we have from day one. We never even bought a crib!

I love cosleeping and I really can't imagine doing it any other way. We both get a solid 12 hours of sleep (which I need as a mom of a toddler). It just works.

@Mrs. High Heels: That sounds like the perfect setup. I do not want LO in bed with me all night because I enjoy the alone time with DH, but I'd love a couple of hours of snuggles in the morning!

We kind of do. We have her sleep in her bed first, but say that if she wants to come to our bed in the middle of the night she can, but she has to fall asleep in her bed first. So we usually get a little visitor between the hours of 4-5 am and she just curls up next to us til morning. It's the perfect setup and we love it!

There was a stretch when she was sleeping with us from the getgo because she was sick and I just let her. Then she got used to it, and refused to go back to her bed, so we implemented a rewards chart to get her to start off the night in her bed, and that worked really well!

Plus, I WOH so I enjoy and need the extra time. Honestly, most of the time I want to go scoop up his brother and sleep with him too!

Yep. We have been co-sleeping since the beginning (co-sleep when she was younger and co-bed once she got a little older). We moved her to her own room a month before she turned 2...and she's back with us. It's just so much easier for her to fall asleep when she sleeps with us, bedtime can be a long battle if we try to get her to sleep in her room. And this works for us because we don't have a lot of time to battle at night, we'd like some alone time, too.

Sort of! My 2.5 year old sleeps in his own bed but he needs me to fall asleep with him and then I leave for a few hours and come back when he wakes up in the middle of the night. So this way I get cuddle time with my LO and alone time with my hubby! And sooo much better because I'll have room in both beds instead of the few times we tried cosleeping with the three of us.

I co-sleep with my 14 month old! It started with me having her sleep on my chest after her morning feeding (4 weeks old+?), to transferring her from bassinette to bed in the middle of the night (4 months maybe), to just having her sleep next to me (starting at 6-7 months). She used to wake up so much and this was easier for both of us. I love love love it. She’s so warm and cozy and I love the cuddle time

@Mamaof2: Well, DH works a shift schedule - one week days, one week nights, and one week off. So when he is on nights there is no time for that! When he is on days, he falls asleep early around 8 because his day starts around 3-4. So not much going on then too - LOL. We just move DS to his toddler bed which is in our room. We used to move him to his pnp. I was also pregnant so not much going on then. Poor DH - sounds like he is deprived!

@pinkcupcake: @looch: @Mamasig: ignore me if this is too personal but where do you and DH have sex? Spare bedroom?

That was my biggest issue with co-sleeping - never being alone with DH! DS was briefly co-sleeping with us but he had to start out in his own bed and then when he woke he could come in our bed - that way it was just DH for a few hours each night.

Us! It started with DS1 when he was about 7-8 months. He began to wake up often at night. This mama was tired and needed rest for work. He mostly STTN if he is sleeping with us. Some nights he wakes up but cuddles and falls back asleep. We upgraded to a king size bed so we could all fit. DH and I don't mind at all. DS1 just turned 2. Little brother is still in his crib. But if he starts needing us too, it will just turn into a party of four! I want them to one day share a room. Hopefully, that is when they'll move out!

me too! Well we coslept with DD since she was about a month old (terrible colic) and she didn't leave our bed until she was two. We have a one bedroom so she has a toddler bed that is close to us. She starts in our bed and when she falls a sleep I transfer her to her bed. She is okay with that and tells me good night and she loves me. I do kind of miss her presence in our bed but I don't miss her foot in my face and back :silly:

About 3 months ago, my 2.5 year old officially moved into our room (and bed). She's been sleeping (pretty well) in her own room since she was 6 months old, but when she turned 2, she started to have lots of fears and bedtime would always lead to tears :(

Bedtime has gotten so much better now - she falls asleep immediately, there's no fighting about going to sleep (since I'm right next to her), and I love our "pillow talk" and extra cuddles :) Sometimes it gets a little cramped w/the 3 of us, but I love sleeping with her - I wish I would have done it sooner!

Any other toddler co-sleepers out there?
