Bad, bad idea. I had nightmares for a week. I had never been affected by any of those shows before. Now I am a bit more careful on what I watch. One nightmare had me waking up in a cold sweat, crying. Yesterday I was commenting on an article talking about granting embryo's full citizens' rights and wanted to look up the youngest mother (to make a point that children are victims of incestuous rape and some conceive, and how can you say that they HAVE to become mothers?) which was horrifying. I totally shouldn't have done it. There were news stories galore on poor children, starting from the age of 9, becoming involuntary mothers. I cannot imagine what I would do if anyone ever did that to my daughter.</p> <p>Oh, and the youngest pregnancy on record was in 1930 in New Guinea. She was 5. Her parents raised her child as her younger sibling. I especially used to love Law &amp; Order: SVU. </p> <p>But now every time a kid is killed on SVU, I can't stop thinking about how devastated I would be if something happened to little Charlie. Then I get to thinking about how the kid probably had parents, and how sad they must be that their kid was not only killed but possibly hurt in the worst possible way.</p> <p>So even though I know SVU is totally fiction, I've cut back on watching crime shows since having kids. I'm sure I'll ramp it back up once I get a bit more adjusted to parenting!</p> <p>Anyone else had their enjoyment of crime shows reduced after having a child? </p>
