You're not alone! DS is almost 6 months old and has never STTN (which I consider to be sleeping from when he goes to bed to when we wake up the next morning). He's slept 6 hours straight here and there and even 8 hours straight a handful of times but usually wakes at least twice on a good night. We've done some sleep training a few times which seems to help with numerous MOTN wakings but then he always gets a cold soon after and we stop!

I always cringe/laugh/cry when I read other moms complain that their baby who previously STTN now wakes once or twice and they are sooo tired.....that is my daily life!!! At least they had a period of STTN!! ;) but that is me just being bitter.

@stargal: I don't want to kill your spirit, so I'm not going to say  We did all the classicly "wrong" things: co-bed, nursing to sleep, extended middle of the night nursing, rocking to sleep. I think all that prolonged his wakings, but we were cool with it.
Every baby is different; do what works for you momma and keep focusing on those cute snuggles!

me! My LO is 18 months and has STTN mayyyyybe 12 times ever (not consecutively). Up until she was 1, she didn't STTN even once and was usually up 3-4 times a night. When she was sick, it was MORE. Blah.

This week, it's been just once a night. It's better, but still not great.

Yep. My 10 month old wakes up 5 times or more a night. I think I might win in the "my kid is a bad sleeper" competition.

DS2 was a horrible sleeper until 10 months or so. I was waking up 4-6 times every night to nurse him back to sleep. Some wake ups would last over an hour long. No amount of sleep training worked on him. Then at LO's 9 month appointment the doctor recommended sleep training again. For some reason it worked this time around. He still isn't the best sleeper, but I am able to get a little more rest.

DS was awful the first year, up 3-4 times at night and a 20min napper, even as a newborn! It all changed at 1 year though.

DD started out as a good sleeper, but ever since 3.5 months she has been awful, even worse than DS, and she is now 13.5 months. Ugh.

My youngest is in the middle of a growth spurt and sleep regression & I'm hoping it's just a phease and not the beginning of something permanent!

D ia the worst sleeper. Almost 5 months and he is constantly getting up at night and hardly naps during the day. The kid csn stay up for 10 hours straight. Confession: i may had to use the vacuum to get him to sleep for the first couple months of his life (like run it for hours). Good thing hes so cute and snuggliy.
Please tellme om not alone?!?!
