I went to work before LO woke up yesterday and worked so late that she was in bed asleep when I got home. She's been having horrid sleep the last two nights, and I was supposed to be off today, so I dropped her off at daycare, feeling guilty that I was going to go home and nap...got called in to work and DH did the daycare pick up,
Mom guilt for missing a whole day of LO's life, planning on napping while LO was at daycare and I had the day off, and I missed her saying dada for the first time (not today). Having to work sucks sometimes.

Daycare asked for more milk today and I'm not going to give it to them. I 100% believe that she's fine. She's totally chubbin out. Still I feel guilty for 'starving' my baby.

Put P down for a nap with a sticker on her hand that she played with. She didn't cry at all when she was falling asleep. When I went to get her, the sticker was nowhere to be found. I am pretty sure she ate it. Then I was worrying about if she could have choked on it and I never would have known...blah blah. That's today's Mom guilt.

@Ellie: I hear ya, I definitely reconsider BF-ing on days like this. I feel like I did nothing but BF all flipping day. I'm going to stick with it, especially since I only have 4 weeks of mat leave left, but man....it gets rough.

I feel mom guilt with this move.
We've missed swim class and he has had like no toys or clothes for the past month. Our stuff finally arrived yesterday so I'll feel better once it's unpacked but I feel guilty for ignoring him to unpack :(

@grizz and @bookworm: I could have written your posts.

My babe has been on my boob all day and it's starting to make me reconsider EBF-ing. I'll stick with it, but today was so hard.
And usually-helpful hubby hasn't really helped me at all today, on a day I feel like I need it the most.

And also, we are smack dab in the middle of a 3-part move. Our life is basically barely held together right now, 95% of our things are in storage with the movers. So if H wears something easy (a romper, a onesie, etc) and doesn't get it dirty, you better believe it's getting recycled the next day for simplicity's sake! She wore this red romper yesterday and today. No shame here.

I set R on the floor tonight and she was actually sitting up by herself really good. So I turned around to grab my phone off the coffee table. I was sitting right behind her and the table was behind me. She started to tip over and I didn't catch her and she hit her head on her infant seat(like a bumbo) tray with the toys on it. She started crying, luckily she stopped once I picked her up and gave her some hugs.

@PrincessBaby: It happens, dogs become their role models too. I caught my daughter chomping on tall grass today because the dog was doing it. She once in awhile tries to put her face in her food to eat like a dog. I think I might be raising a wolf child.

My daughter is obsessed with the dog, and now that she's crawling, all she wants to do is chase him. Today, as I looked at home decorating sites and HB, she chased him down, stole his ball, AND PUT IT IN HER MOUTH. Ultimate mom fail:(. She's just sooooo quick!

@grizz: I've been in that exact position, more than once. And more than once I just handed LO to DH and locked myself in the bathroom. DH would walk around outside with him or rock him or just pace the apartment with him while I took a bath. Sometimes he got him to sleep, sometimes just calm, sometimes no difference but getting that break let me come back to the situation refreshed, more patient/less frustrated and less resentful of DH. Maybe you could let your DH try for a while so you can have a bit of a recharge?

I had to take the 3 hour glucose test today And the ate McDonald's and had a milkshake this afternoon. I don't know my results yet I feel super guilty eating that stuff, but if I have GD, I wanted it one last time. The other part fee,s guilty because what if I do have it? Did I cause it with my eating? I know that's what my family thinks. Just overall guilt. And my house isn't clean.

But, I absolve myself.

@MrsH: Fur babies definitely count! I have almost more mom-guilt for my pup since M's arrival than I do for the baby. I'm so sorry about your kitty :(

@grizz: Resentment is such a big part of the mom-guilt! It's so hard to have these little guys dominating your life. When M was a newborn DH and I worried this would feel like "the year we were at war with the baby". Luckily this has gotten better. *hugs!*

@petunia354: It happens to everyone! Your DH forgives you, your son is fine and will never remember. This happened on my DH's watch a few weeks ago and M is totally fine. Of course I was sort of glad it wasn't on my time... and then I fell down the stairs holding her. Fail.

I have a cold and LO is sleeping like crap lately. I am so tired and feel terrible. At one point I put him in the swing and just let him hang out there while I laid on the couch and watched Friends. And later I let him play on the floor, mesmerized by the TV while I cooked dinner. I just didn't have the energy to be a very interactive mom today. :(

DS fell off the bed this morning. Yeah. I did what everyone tells you not to and now I know why. Cried my face off, even more so than him. He is fine now and back to his happy self. I think the worst part was having to tell DH that something bad happened on my watch.

LO has been a grumpy bear refusing sleep so today I just had her play in her room till she decided to sleep or at least have quiet time. Where she decided to sleep was in the laundry basket of clean clothes but she must have had her head pressed up against the one side and woke up with an imprint of the basket. I've just had her play in her room before when she won't nap and she usually crawls into bed or curls up on her carpet but guess those clothes just looked comfy.

My baby is SUPER over-tired and I am doing everything in my power to get him to sleep and I just can't. Right now I'm letting him comfort nurse although he's done it all freakin day long... I'm so frustrated and my nipples are torn to bits. I just want to scream. I feel so guilty for feeling resentful about it, but my husband is being zero help today. Zero.

Do fur babies count? The vet just told us the cat we rescued (aka took in after someone dumped him in our neighborhood) has cancer. The growth was removed but instead of amputating portions of his paw we are just going to wait and see what happens. I feel really bad that we aren't taking any action. I've lost a lot of family (people not pets) to cancer lately and I feel guilty for not doing more for him :(

I loved @FutureMrsMcK 's mom-guilt thread a few weeks ago and I was remembering everyone's admissions and trying to forgive myself for today!

I worked 12 hours overnight last night. When I do a night shift, DH takes M to her babysitter's the next day before I get home. I always feel guilty because most of the moms that I work with go home and watch their kids for the whole day afterwards. I don't know how they do it - by the time DH gets home it would have been a full 38 hours since I had slept. Just not possible for me.

Usually I go home and sleep for a few hours and then run around and do chores, grocery shopping, laundry, etc. This makes me feel better about paying someone to watch M while I'm at home. Today, I slept most of the day and then sat on the couch and watched the entire Bachelorette finale. I didn't make dinner, go grocery shopping, pick up toys or do laundry. We went away last weekend and the bags are still packed. The house actually looks worse than it did when DH left for work this morning.

I'm hereby absolving myself of my guilt. Phew - that feels better! Anyone else need this today?
