LO woke every 2-3 hours until he self weaned at 21 months!!! It was like magic and once he stopped nursing he started STTN (most of the time). It's only been a month but I'm finally getting some more sleep. I also felt like I was the only one with a kid that didn't STTN.

DS is 11 months and has just recently gone down to 1 waking a night. He might wake up another time or two but I never have to go in there. He cries for a minute until he finds his lovey and then he is good. Between 6-9 months there were nights he was waking up 3-4 times a night. I just dealt with it. We tried CIO but he got sick and I just couldn't let him cry when he didn't feel good. Its hard, but I think as long as you are still establishing good sleep habits its okay to still have wake ups. It won't last forever.

DD didn't sleep through the night until she was over a year. DS is now 11 months and besides the short 1.5 month break between teething episodes, he's usually up twice a night and up for the day around 5:30. He's currently working on his molars (2 down, 2 to go!) and then his eye teeth have been moving down, so I figure we have at least another month of this.

My baby sttn from 2-5 months, and then basically not again until quite recently. We night weaned her at 13 months, and at 17 months she often STTN, and just as often doesn't. STTN is not the biological norm at 8 months. Some do, some don't, but the majority do not do it without some kind of sleep training. Lots of other moms don't believe in it either, so you're not alone!

These 2 kellymom posts have REALLY helped me find some peace with P's wakings.

I know that not sttn at her age isn't the accepted norm here, but resolve that it is biologically normal for her & that I should find my niche to just "go with it"

I bet it's the 8/9 mo regression. My kids went thru it but they woke up more than 2 times.

E is still waking 2-3x a night at 9 monhts and I'm am losing my mind. He has NEVER, not once, slept all the way through the night. I started this weekend with trying to let him CIO when he wakes up in the middle of the night and decided I would not feed him before 4. It was a DISASTER! He wouldn't stay asleep without being nursed. I tried letting him cry, just giving him his paci, rocking him, rubbing his back. Each time he would sleep for 10-20 min. and then be up crying again until I finally gave in and nursed him so we could both get some sleep. I even sent DH in thinking that my boobs being in the room weren't helping the situation, but E wouldn't even settle for DH.

Like M, he eats until he is full during the day. I offer solids until he turns his head away signalling he is done, and he needs to be coaxed to finish the last ounce or so of his bottles. He is fed a bottle, fed dinner, and nursed in the three hours before bedtime, he should be full enough to last through at least the majority of the night.

I just don't know what the right thing to do is either. Is he really hungry? I can't maintain this waking up 3x/night and working full time thing any longer. I could even deal if it was just once a night. OK, I've written a novel... yes, I can commiserate.

My LO is 2, and he wasn't STTN at 8.5mos, but we didn't sleep train. He does STTN now and has been doing so for a while.

*raises hand*

P still wakes 1-2 times BEFORE we go to bed, and atleast 1x after we go to bed.

I just go in & nurse her back to sleep, or if we've already gone to sleep she comes into bed with us and we dream feed as she feels the need to.

I figure just like any other milestone, when she's ready she won't need me anymore through the night & she'll sleep on her own.

Is she crawling yet? When LO started crawling it was like a light switch flipped and she began STTN. Before that she was waking up once at night to eat around 2-4

ETA: She also wakes up and roots around for her paci and falls back asleep when she finds it. We keep 5 pacis' in her crib every night. If she can't find it, we go in and stick one in her mouth

We had a few miracle nights of STTN. Now we're back to 2-3x/night for wake-ups. I can't handle CIO, it's just not for me. I've tried trading down sleep associations but my daughter just wants to eat when she wakes up and it's been 4 hours. I'm giving her formula, breastmilk and food during the day, she appears to be getting enough because she spits out the bottles before she has finished them.

Can anyone commiserate with me? I need to hear from other HB mama's who's babies aren't STTN because all of my IRL mama's have babies who DO!!!!
