Or if I had a bday party on the weekend closest to Halloween everyone wanted to dress up and go trick or treating. It was actually really annoying. Even when I was older, in college, people wanted to dress up to go out to dinner for my birthday. My neighborhood growing up was like Halloween central: kids would come specifically to our neighborhood from all around to trick or treat and all of the houses were decorated. It's like a kid's dream! My parents literally give away like 800 pieces of candy per year (though they sometimes give the littlest ones and best costumes more than one piece ;) )</p> <p>For adults though, I think it's kind of lame. It's just an excuse for a party and my husband goes overboard in thinking about costumes, hahaha. But in actuality, I hate the day itself. I live in a townhouse where you have to go downstairs to answer the door. On top of that I have a dog that barks and goes crazy at the doorbell. So running up and down the stairs and dealing with an extremely upset dog is just not fun.
