I'm not at this point since even though I had preterm labor last time, I made it to term. They're going to monitor my cervical length throughout the rest of my pregnancy and if it shortens will do progesterone shots.

@Mrs. Lion: because I'm on a 90/10 coverage after my deductible is met, so I'm responsible for 10%.

@Mrs. Lion: maybe it's an insurance thing. My insurance doesn't cover shorts unless my cervix actually shortens.

My doctor has told me that I will be given the option on my next pregnancy because E (DS2) was 4.5 weeks early and N (DS1) was 2 weeks early. She hopes to stop another early baby.

@MarieJ: why does your insurance not cover that $400? My practice bills everything after baby is born and i am released from the hospital....and my ob didn't mention a cost for the shots.

@MarieJ: that's not bad. You were on suppositories for #1? Did you have cervix issues? This is my first time on anything. My water broke unexpectedly at 33 weeks 7 days.

@littlek: Once a week. I was on suppositories for Lo #1. Out of pocket, I will pay around $400. Insurance covers the rest. The way the insurance explained it, they would rather pay for the shots than the NICU costs.

@littlek: my ob said she would do the shots...she said either dh could do it for me or i could go to the office. They are once a week. In my head i feel like they will hurt less if i get them done in the office, but dh said he is fine doing them too.

i was taking the suppositories from week 24 to 34 for a relatively short cervix (2cm) , currently almost 36 weeks pregnant and cervix is now about 0.5cm. so glad to be done with progesterone tho, i hated it!
