DH has been using this app and according to him it's been his secret to success. In 3ish months he's down 25lbs!

@mrbee: you can build your own recipes/add your own things. We'll make oatmeal with whatever fruit we have in the house for breakfast and DH will just keep track of quantities and the app adds them up for you. For instance, if you have 1/3 cup oatmeal, you can add the calories for that, plust 1/4c strawberries and 1/4 c skim milk. Most items have the calories on the package, and if it's not on the package, DH just 'looks it up' through the app.

The app I am using has one of the largest catalogs of food I've seen! It even has a lot of restaurant chain food. I have coffee with 2% milk every morning and I end up just going (coffee, 2 servings...then next line item is milk, one cup). You have to break things out sometimes. You can even upload recipes that you make at home and it will portion it out for you!

I have considered this! But how do you classify things that aren't in the app... like I have Oatmeal with skim milk and strawberries every morning.

I've started tracking my own calories using the "My Fitness Pal" app on my phone. Anyone else use it?
