I had baby fever like crazy when I was on the pill and knew I couldn't go off yet, but now that it's finally time, I'm like "wait a minute, where did the baby fever go." I feel more akin to how I feel when I've been looking forward to a race for months but now my alarm is going off at 4:30 am on the day of a marathon, and I'm thinking, "remind me why I wanted to do this? We knew we wanted a second child and started trying when DD was 2, but I wasn't OMG I want a new baby and was even a little hesitant because life was so easy with just one. After a loss I realized how much I really wanted that second child, but was even more ambivalent about TTC since I was scared of loss again. Nothing wrong with feeling that way. I logically know we want another, so we TTC (and admittedly I get caught up in TTC). But I never am like "OMG I need a baby right now!" I knew that I would never really feel ready and had to just go for it. It was definitely the right choice (DS is 15 months now) but very different! I've been thinking about it and I feel like I have the opposite of baby fever right now. I really want another child, but I'd be happy to skip pregnancy and the newborn stages altogether. It is making me feel really weird about TTC (every other time we've tried, I have definitely had the fever!).</p> <p>Anyone else with me? </p>
