Yeah, American's refund department is &#34;offline&#34; so you can only email. And there's no way to follow up on the status. So there are employees sitting in a dark cave somewhere throwing darts at the wall deciding who gets a refund, ugh.

<description>&#60;p&#62;We had booked a trip to San Juan, PR through Jet Blue.  Thankfully we did the hotel/flight together through them so it was only one phone call to make! &#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;It was actually really easy though I didn't state that we wanted to cancel due to Zika at beginning of the call so she started to talk about cancellation fees and just getting a credit from them until I mentioned it.  But then that was it, full refund, she just asked how I had heard they were refunding for that reason.  It was a bit of a weird phone call but in all extremely easy and we had the money refunded to our CC in a couple of days (despite her trying to convince us to just take the credit since it could take up to 10 days, ha! I was like uh lady I can wait a few days).&#60;/p&#62;
&#60;p&#62;ETA - good luck! That's frustrating they're making it difficult. You had to request in writing?

<description>&#60;p&#62;Just wondering if anyone had to cancel travel plans due to the Zika virus? How did it work out? I thankfully had no trouble cancelling the hotel on time but the air fare has been a nightmare. Aruba was only just added to the list of affected countries two days ago, but my original request for a refund (with doctors note) was made exactly 3 weeks ago and there has still been no response. I am submitting new requests today!
