I love reading adoption blogs and something about adoption stories give me the warm and fuzzies more than anything else so I would def love to have a family with bio and adopted children or at least foster in the future. It was really only recently that I realized I wanted to have a biological child as well, and so we decided to try for a biological child first. Our tentative plan is to try Clomid for the remaining five cycles and then start the adoption process if I haven't gotten pregnant. But if I do get pregnant we definitely want to adopt for #2!</p> <p>@smores : Ethiopia is really near and dear to our hearts.... we're actually going to a fundraiser next weekend for Ethiopian Orphan Relief. 3 families that we are close friends with have all adopted precious little boys from Ethiopia, and if it weren't for the recent issues, I think Ethiopia would be our first choice. I've been reading up on the Congo, and I think that might be a good option for us!</p> <p>@mh.abroad: I like that pattern of adopt one, have on. In fact, I read adoption blogs as much as I read pregnancy blogs! I've always been pro-adoption, but through a series of events I became really passionate about a specific orphanage in Ethiopia for special-needs children. My involvement made me passionate about adoption and the Ethiopian people. Additionally, my husband was adopted by one of his parents, so we know personally how wonderful adoption can be for a child. Because of our personal experiences, we're committed to adopting a child from Ethiopia, but we're open to adopting another from the US or elsewhere abroad. </p> <p>If you are of the same mind, why did you decide you wanted to adopt? If you want only biological children, did you ever consider adopting and why did you decide not to? </p>
