@fussygal: My guy rejected spoons after about a month of solids. He loves to play with the spoon now but hates to eat from it. He likes self-feeding, but sometimes he gets hungry or frustrated and prefers me to pick the food up for him. I bet as she gets more practice, she'll move toward feeding herself.

My daughter is a bit younger (7.5 months), and we started purees at 6 months also. She liked them for the most part and was eating around 5 tbsp a day. But, the past couple days, she won't eat them off a spoon either! But if I give her something out of my hand, she thinks it's delicious! So weird! Lol.

If your LO disliked spoons at first, when did they eventually start to let you use one for feeding them?

We started purees at 6 months and she was into them for a few weeks, but quickly started refusing them 80% of the time. I always figured it was the purees she wasn't into, but I think a large part of it is the spoon! This week (8.5 months) I've started giving her chunks of my food and she LOVES it, but will only take food if I hand feed her with my fingers - no spoons! It's pretty cute because she's SO into it and dives for my fingers if I have food on them. I'm definitely not worried about it, just curious about the experience of others :)
