@wonderstruck: the secretary said I could come in tonight but that I would need an x-ray to tell if it's broken and DH is working. I said forget it. I taped it and I'm elevating it. If it's still bad tomorrow I'll go to the walk in clinic because the podiatrist can't get me in again this week.

@swedishfish: Does your podiatrist think you need to be seen? I'm just asking because in my case they really didn't even want to do an x-ray (and I imagine they'd be more hesitant on that when you're pregnant) since even if it is broken, like @cmomma17 said, they can't put it in a cast or anything.

Boo. I think I broke my toe recently (not preg) and I haven't done anything about it because I was told the doc can't do anything.

@swedishfish: I have broken my toe twice and both times they just taped it up and sent me on my way. I don't think they will do anything different since you are pregnant but I guess you would only be able to take Tylenol for the pain

I have broken toes before, but not while pregnant. And unfortunately, there's not much you can do about it :( no little toe casts :silly:

Thanks! I think I'm going to head to the walk in clinic because the podiatrist's office can't see me until tonight. DH will be at work and I really don't want to drag R to the podiatrist.

I broke my toe while packing for our babymoon! Luckily I didn't need a cast or anything, the dr just taped it up really good. I hobbled around Mexico for quite a bit but was still able to go swimming. It healed pretty quickly, by the end of the week I could go on short beach walks.

Then when C was just 4 weeks old I broke my elbow. THAT sucked, broken elbow + newborn = no fun !

Feel better!!

I wasn't pregnant when it happened, but I've broken my big toe before. Unfortunately, there's not much they can do for a broken toe! I iced it a lot and wrapped/taped it to the toe next to it to help brace it.

@swedishfish - i hope it's just bruised and not broken!! It seems like forever ago but I broke my elbow when I was pregnant. Actually didn't know I was pregnant until after I fell it was that early on. It was actually a blessing b/c it gave me a chance to slow down and have an excuse to stay in bed when I had morning sickness. The tough part was dealing with a toddler at the same time. Needless to say, I had to recruit some help!
Hoping for good news and a toe that feels better soon!!

I tried to avoid the dog last night and slammed my foot against the bathroom door jam. One of my toes is now a nice bluish-purple color. I'm not sure if it's just badly bruised or broken. I'm waiting on a call from the podiatrist. Have you ever broken anything while pregnant?
