I had this pretty bad during pregnancy. I figured out I needed belly support while I was sleeping. I used a pregnancy pillow but it was too poofy to go under my belly. So I had to find a pretty flat pillow or sleep at an angle so my belly wasn’t just hanging to the side (I probably could have used a support belt during the day too but never for one)

@ALV91711: yes and I was recommended a physio but saw a chiropractor once every theee or four weeks during the first two trimesters instead. She sorted out my lower spine which had some impact but in general the pain persisted until birth...then it disappeared!!

@ALV91711: I had this during my last pregnancy and it was awful. I didn't do anything about it. Since it's so early, I'd consider talking to your OB about it.

I had lots of pain in my second pregnancy but I just suffered! Ha. I was on modified bedrest so I wasn’t allowed to practice yoga, which I’m sure would have helped. It was especially bad when I lifted my leg to put on pants.

Good news is that it went away after delivery.

@yogifish: Massage is a great idea. I haven't had one in way too long and they always seem to help for other pain.

@Iced Tea: I will have to look into this. Thank!

A pelvic floor physical therapist will know what to do. I went to one during my last pregnancy. Worth it.

@ALV91711: I had this my first pregnancy and found massage to be helpful in keeping it to a mostly dull ache versus all out pain. A physio I saw also told me to stop doing anything where you stand on one leg, like putting socks on or shoes to sit down. They told me it was called pubic symphysis dysfunction, but I also had a lot of pain not just in my groin/aductors, but in my crotch too.

Reviving this old thread to see if any one has similar pain and what their recommendations are.

I'm 15 weeks today and what started as a dull pain a couple weeks ago has just gotten worse. Today I was pretty busy and by dinner I just didn't want to move.

What are you doing for the pain?

@MrsKoala: Hopefully you get it figured out!

@AvantLaLettre: Ya I really don't want to take any Tylenol. From what I've been reading, it is usually worse with each pregnancy. Ugh!

@Mrs Hedgehog: Thanks. Yes it does suck. It feels like my pelvis is ripped in two.

Yep. I spent my entire pregnancy feeling like I'd had a run in with a thigh master and lost. I was told it was just round ligament pain as well and "normal" so just waddled around like a pregnant little old lady from about week 15 on.

Omg me!!! Yes!!! This was my biggest complaint with pg #1, it started like 20/21 weeks and by around 25 weeks it got so bad it really hurt walking, exercise was off the table etc. I do not remember it during labor I just know it was when walking, getting out of bed rolling over etc. Like in my groin /crotch area kinda on the sides between thigh skin and vagina skin lol. My dr said its round ligament pain and told me to take Tylenol for it. I think I did a few times, but I didn't want to daily so I sucked it up. After lo was born, it did go away, though once in awhile walking or working out, I would get a twinge of pain there. I'm a bit worried , 6 weeks now and it's been hurting again since 4 weeks! I guess this time if its worse I will do Tylenol and maybe try ice or heat? Ughhhh I feel your pain!!!

I've been dealing with it for a couple weeks now. Especially when I walk. I'm going to talk to my midwife about it and see what they suggest.

Me. :-( I think I tweaked it when I was running around for work and ever since then (4 weeks) it has been unpleasant.

I bought a yoga ball for my office which helps a bit (I can at least roll around and stretch my hips a bit throughout the day), but other than that, not much helps. DH laughs at my morning routine to get out of bed now (one leg straight in the air, then another, then the first one circles out to the side and wide, then the other, then both…etc, etc.). He says it looks like I'm warming up for Cirque. Butthead.

I'm definitely asking about it at my appointment on Wednesday. If I get any quality, no circus-stretching feedback, I'll let you know.

I'm not feeling that specific pain, but in general this pregnancy has been MUCH achier than my others. I don't know if this would help you much, but I love my pregnancy support belt. I call it a perpetual hug for my tummy :) hahaha It helps my lower back pain, hip pain, and my abs.

I have been experiencing this pain through most of my pregnancy. Basically it hurts when I close my legs together. It really hurts when I walk or even try and roll over in bed. I have read that it could be linked to round ligament pain and from the extra relaxing hormones being secreted. I'm just wondering if anyone experienced this and if so, what did you do to help it? This was an area that hurt the most during delivery with #1 and if it already hurts, how is it going to feel during delivery #2?!
