I gained like 20lbs by 20 weeks but only gained 30lbs total. I had pretty bad morning sickness so I ate a ton in the beginning, I also was in the middle of a kitchen remodel so we ate out a lot. Surprisingly my doctor never mentioned it.

Me! I gained at least 5# in the first tri. You do what you gotta do, and if that means eat to keep away the nausea, do it! So far, I'm 29 weeks and have gained maybe 15 total. My doctor is very happy with it.

I gained a pound a week in my first two trimesters...but by the end I only ended up gaining around 35 total. I was worried about my weight gain but my doctor never seemed concerned.

I gained at least 10 in the first trimester, ended up at 31 pounds by the end. I didn't gain much in the second trimester so it evened out.

I gained 15! All in the first trimester. My doc was vocal when she felt I was gaining too much, and we put me on a calorie plan at that time (half way through pregnancy). I would just talk to your doc if you are concerned, but try not to worry!

During my first pregnancy I gained 20 lbs by 18 weeks or so and then ended up only gaining about 35 lbs total (and I delivered on my due date). I had nasty morning sickness until 17 weeks and eating carbs throughout the day kept me from throwing up constantly. Try not to worry too much about it! Im 30-weeks pregnant with number 2 and already have gained 3O lbs. I'm trying not to care since my morning sickness hasn't let up this time and I'm eating whatever to curb the nausea. Plus with my first I had tons of water weight and was down 20 lbs after a couple weeks.

Honestly? No. I ended up gaining about 70lbs, but a good chunk was water weight.

So I have already gained 5 lbs and I'm only 9 weeks along. I think it's because I'm ALWAYS hungry and eating curbs my nausea as well. I am really hoping that my appetite goes back to normal after the first trimester and that my weight gain will level off.

Did anyone gain more than expected in the first trimester but then stayed within the recommended 25-35 lb weight gain by the end of the pregnancy?
Thanks!
