@JennyPenny: good to know! I think that’s what threw me, in the store opening the big drawer was hard but I tried with one hand. I’m sure I would get used to it!

Thanks guys! Yea good point about them not being able to break. DH is a strong drawer closer so the metal glides on his are a mess, so maybe this will help that (I will actually murder him if he screws this one up lol). Since we have no nice furniture yet I was hoping it’s not just a scam to pay more ha, but not having to put it together and having it be solid and gorgeous is also worth it!

Also not PB but we have an old hand-me-down dresser that has wooden slides and I have no complaints. If anything I think it causes much fewer headaches than metal drawer glides. We’ve had issues with those getting stuck or coming off the track in other pieces but there’s really nothing that can go wrong with the wooden ones. I suspect that’s why PB uses them. They will last forever. The dresser we have is at least 40+ years old and still going strong.

ETA: after posting, I went back and played with my dresser to be sure there wasn’t anything I was forgetting. We have a mix of small drawers with 1 handle and big drawers with 2 handles, which I see in the one you’re eyeing. I do have to use both hands/handles on the big drawers. I’m apparently used to it since I forgot about it, but thought I’d mention it.

I do not have a pottery barn dresser, but I do have a cheap dresser with metal drawer glides and I hate it so much. Based on this, I would consider the pottery barn dresser despite wooden glides. I cannot imagine pottery barn selling something awful.

We have a Pottery Barn Kids dresser in one older daughter's room. I'm not sure how the quality compares to "regular" Pottery Barn dressers, but we've been pleased with it. I've found the drawers pretty easy, and the finish has held up incredibly well considering what my kids have put it through.

@HappyBaker: Beautiful! This is more my husbands area of expertise but I am pretty sure you could buy metal drawer glides and install them instead of the wood ones depending on how it is all put together. We have updated drawer glides to soft close from regular so I know you can buy aftermarket.

I’ve had this gorgeous dresser from pottery barn in my sights for over a year, and now that we finally are in a place where we can move ahead with our master bedroom updates I went to see it in a store and am totally second guessing it!

We have no “nice” dressers in our house, everything is IKEA or Walmart put it together yourself type stuff, and very inexpensive. The one I loved from PB looked great in person but the drawers are on wooden glides instead of metal and that part threw me as all our current dressers just have metal glides. It seemed a little harder to slide the drawers in and out.

Do you have a dresser from PB? Do you feel like it was worth the price? And if it has wooden glides does it drive you nuts?
