@doxielove: sorry for the delayed response! I just saw this. Yes, the endo caused us to be unable to successfully conceive for over 8 months. We stopped trying (a personal decision, not medical) way before my diagnosis. But my doctor believes that the endo is to blame for our unsuccessful 8 months of TTC two years ago. The surgery was 5 weeks ago and the first week and a half I was pretty sore and out of commission. We started TTC a little over 3 weeks ago, and I'm pretty sure I'm 10 or 11 DPO. (Not positive I O'd, just going off of CM). I'd say I'm completely back to normal from the surgery and I feel much better as far as endo pain goes. Hope my story was helpful! Best of luck to you! :)

@doxielove: I had a lap done last Nov. It was with my gyno and he was checking for scarring, polyps, etc. He also did a HSG while I was under. He found nothing and my tubes were open. My recovery took about 5 days to feel back to normal. The pain was very minimal. It was more sore than anything else. My gyno said that many women get pregnant within 3 months of HSG and the lap. Unfortunately, I was not one of those women. Hoping you find some success with it!

One of my BFFs had this done. After having it done she got pregnant right away (within 3 months), then when they decided to try for #2 they got pregnant the first month (she had just weaned and just got her period back).

@MrsD2442: Did the endo have any impact on your fertility? (Are you/were you TTC at the time of the lap)? How long was your recovery?

I had a lap to diagnose endometriosis 6+ years ago... It was a pretty easy recovery, but I did rest a lot the first couple of days after (i did it on Christmas break from college). The worst part was honestly the bowel prep and then feeling bloated for about a week after. I had a serious reduction in my endo symptoms for a good 4-5 years! Now, I'm 32 weeks pregnant! I didn't have any fertility related adhesions (on the uterus or ovaries), all my adhesions were on my bowel, so my previously diagnosed IBS was basically gone after the lap!

@BlueWolverine: I had a laparoscopy in late July. I have relatively severe endometriosis, and had a rough recovery from my procedure. Glad yours wasn't so bad!!

@doxielove: any specific questions I could ask for you?

I have had 2 laps. They weren't too terrible. Uncomfortable. Results were OK. I just need to be monitored a little more often.

@BlueWolverine: it's an endometriosis thing-the tissue grows outside your uterus and it can cause other organs to fuse together. But mine was terrible!!! Hope you recover quickly!

@BlueWolverine: the worst part for mine was the IV too! I seriously almost passed out it hurt so bad. I will say that I thought I felt so much better afterwards and tried to travel for a work conference a couple days afterwards...yeah, big mistake. I felt HORRIBLE. So rest up! I had a lot of scar tissue removed tho and a few cysts I didn't know about, so that might have made a difference. Also, if you are having trouble going to the bathroom there is this tea called smoove moves the pharmacist recommended me. It worked wonders.

Thanks! It was this morning and was so easy. Apparently had endometriosis, but not bad. Doc removed the tissue. The worst part, honestly, was having the IV put in. I have notoriously hidden/evasive veins, and it took five different people including six different sticks to get it in. The actual anesthesiologist had to put it in.

I've had two laps. My first lap was hard because I had a lot of tissue and a few cysts removed, plus my bladder and intestine were stuck to my uterus. My second was done with a laser and was a piece of cake!

I haven't had a laparoscopy, but I did have a hyst. Have you had a HSG yet? It's pretty similar except way less uncomfortable. My doctor found a fibroid during the hyst.
