I have the Canon t4i but I've used the Nikon D3200. Both cameras are pretty comparable. We decided to go with Canon because of the package that we were able to score but they're both great cameras.

@shopaholic: Totally agree on the picture quality. Once you go dSLR, you can't really go back to a point and shoot.

I have it too! Like @shopaholic, I'm not really proficient at using it yet; but it's an awesome camera. Really nice pictures!! TONS better than my old (not too old, either) digital point and shoot, and of course tons and tons better than the iphone camera.

It's very easy to use. For emailing pics/uploading to FB, you need the wireless adaptor for the camera (less than $50 I believe), and then you just need to download the app. Easy peasy.

I would recommend this camera, I'm very happy with it!

I have it and I like it! I actually want to upgrade it so I can get a better lens. But I'm not really proficient at using it beyond a few simple manual adjustments and of course Auto. But once you get used to the quality of pics from a DSLR, I think you will no longer like the point & shoot pics (well, that's just me).
I DO know a lot of parents who end up hating/complain about using the DSLR because it's so heavy to lug around. But I find that I don't mind the weight for special occasions. And once I have a stroller and big ol' diaper bag - I figure it'll be easier to toss in there and roll around!

I'm thinking about getting one. H deserves better pics, lol ...

I read some great reviews on it, and was intrigued bc there's some type of add-on thingy that allows you to email and share photos. We have a digital camera with billions of undownloaded pics so I think that added feature is nice for lazy people like us!

Any thoughts on it?
