@travelgirl1: could it be a posterior tongue tie? Those can be more tricky to spot than a typical anterior tie. Either was, if her tongue/mouth is stiff, there are exercises you can do to help her loosen up, like running your finger around her mouth/by her gums, and encouraging her to stick her tongue out by holding down her lower lip.

My supply took a big hit and our freezer stash is non existent. today I pumped 3 oz for DD. At 10am at work I pumped 1oz! I have a cold and have been drinking mother's milk tea, water, I bought more milk plus and so far nothing. I'm hoping that its my cold and I'm hoping it goes away soon!

@Kemma: she was lovely and had lots advice but when she tried to reposition A she freaked and then refused to nurse for the rest of the night so she couldn't watch any feeding. I think the LC felt bad about it because she only charged me for half a visit. I've been able to put some of her tips into practice and got a prescription from my Dr. The LC thinks she might have some tongue tie, even though I had our family doctor check her for that twice already, because she can feel some stiffness. Wondering whether to investigate that further....

I had a dip in supply at around New Years but I was able to get my supply back up by upping my calorie intake, eating lactation cookies and drinking lactation tea.

@travelgirl1: how did your visit with the LC go?

@travelgirl1: tried this too:( it did nothing for me. My family doctor believes it is more than hormonal issue but a breast tissue issue as well:/ I hope it works for you! I've heard good things!

@littlebittyhouse: @TurtleDoves: I suffered a big drop this week but have started donperidone on the advice of my LC to ease the stress. Hoping it will help because A will not take a bottle and girl has to eat!

@littlebittyhouse: you don't want to know.
I am officially down to one feeding a day:( sometimes not even a big enough feeding to get my LO full. He is now 3.5m old and the dip began at about 6w? And slowly tapered off to what it is now, despite ALL possible medical and herbal intervention:( I hope this does not happen to you:(
Please try brewers yeast, more milk Plus supplements and nursing your LO many, many times a day on both sides to stimulate milk production. But if all fails: do not feel guilty.
It took me a long time to come to terms with the fact that milk supply loss is not my fault:'(

Some days I have trouble with the pump, it's like nothing comes out despite all my efforts. Those days I just let LO nurse from the breast directly and he seems happy enough. Other days the milk is gushing with the pump, no idea why it varies so much.

Have you been getting enough rest? And eating enough? That's something that could affect your supply.

My supply does vary from day to day although I don't know by how much since LO drinks from the breast and I only pump once a day. But there are days I feel super full and can pump 4oz in one sitting, and days I feel super empty and only pump 1oz in a sitting. LO is 12 weeks so my supply should be pretty established at this point.

Do you eat supplements like Fenugreek and drink the Mother's tea? Whenever I feel like my supply is low for the day I try to do extra Fenugreek.

Could it be your body responding to so much pumping instead of bfing? Perhaps you should try feeding at the breast to see if you can get your supply back up. I have also read that listening to classical music actually increases production. So pp gave good advice... Try to relax although it's hard!

I'm trying not to freak out:/
Usually I pump throughout the day and nurse directly from the breast throughout the night.
Last night LO kept crying because my let down was so slow. Switched sides: still slow.
So I have him a bottle.
This morning I expected to be absolutely engorged because LO hadn't emptied my breasts and either way: I'm usually filled back up by morning...but nothing. I pumped for 25mins and only got 3oz all together; I usually get 6oz total.
Then I usually pump 4 more times a day but today I felt nothing! I feel empty. So I'm pumping anyways and I'm at the 20min mark and I literally have less than 1oz total:/
I've tried hot compresses and have tried to latch lO on one side & pump the other but nothing has helped:/ and I feel flat & empty instead of heavy & full like I usually do.
Is this normal? Can I expect it to be normal tomorrow? Should I do something tonight to prevent supply loss? (I can't afford to drop any of my supply!)
