My nausea did get better, but I have gotten migraines pretty much every other day since I hit 12 weeks. Also...I think I'm just as tired as I was in the first trimester.

I was pretty unhappy through around week 20. I was getting headaches nearly every day, throwing up morning and night, all sorts of fun. Around 20 it all seemed to get better. Good luck!

I didn't feel better until 18-19 weeks, if you are only eating one meal a day I would consult your doctor about getting on Zofran. the baby is taking it's nutrients, but leaving you with nothing and hat's not good. I didn't gain weight until 21 weeks, and that was because I was finally keeping food down. After that it really was better! So I think it's a myth that it happens in the beginning, but hit the 1/2 mark and you will hopefully feel a little better. Chock down as much healthy food as you can though so both you and baby benefit!

@Arden: You've still got time to feel better! I don't remember exactly when it was, but it was like all of a sudden I could look on a menu and order whatever I wanted! I used to get winded going around the block...now I'm fine on long walks. It's really weird. Hopefully a couple more weeks will do it for you!

I'm 15 1/2 weeks and I still get those times when I feel suddenly exhausted (i.e. just fell asleep last night w/out finishing what I was doing). My appetite was REALLY lacking in 1st tri. Got a little better starting 10 weeks and 12 weeks. But really still can't handle a lot of good foods. But starting this week 15, I've had more of an appetite/hunger. While foods still don't taste all that good or appetizing to me, I do feel hungry more and trying to eat better to nourish baby. So far, I've not been eating "well" or "healthy". Rather, my thinking is ANYTHING I can eat is better than nothing. lol.
I'm hoping this week or next will be the final turning point where I can finally eat some meats and proteins.
Good luck and hang in there!

Boo, that stinks. I didn't have morning sickness even in the first tri, but I have still been exhausted in the second tri. And I have the added fun of, instead of constantly worrying about a miscarriage, constantly worrying that my increased discharge is actually fluid that I'm leaking. Yay paranoia.

Poor thing! I started feeling better nausea-wise at around 15 weeks...just a couple of days after I posted a thread about it. Maybe you'll have the same luck! I feel your pain though, nausea is the absolute worst. Don't beat yourself up if you don't think you're eating healthy enough--my diet is still kind of questionable, but I do my best to eat some good stuff along with the bad. I don't think the 2nd trimester is all gravy, though--I can't sleep, and I've got hemorrhoids and skin tags, and I'm not quite to 17 weeks yet! The idea of 23 more scares me...

You still have time to feel better!

I've had hellacious heartburn in the second trimester - worse than my morning sickness. And it's getting hard to roll over and get out of bed and that kind of thing. But it's been OK.

I remember my mom telling me how at the end of her 2nd trimester with me, my dad said something about well that was the best trimester, it'll get worse from here, and she burst into tears thinking that was the best it would get!

As far as your diet though, everything I've read and heard says that the baby will take what it needs from you. So even if your diet isn't great now, he/she is still pulling the nutrients from you. Fine for the baby, but I guess that won't help you feel better :( Hopefully you will have a turn around soon!

My experience has been like @oahujeni
I was sick and had major aversions up to about 20 weeks.
At 28 weeks I only usually throw up once a day, my aversions are mostly gone and I usually feel better once I eat.

I'm not having any nausea, but I'm 23 weeks and still not really feeling the "golden trimester." I'm more tired now than I was during the first trimester. And I'm just sore and achy, like, all the time.

I was really nauseous up until 20 weeks. Now I'm 26 and it's starting to come back, but a little different this time. I feel nauseous a few times a day but don't have a major aversion to food like I did before. After I eat I feel better

I remember feeling liked I'd been totally jipped by my second trimester - everyone told me I'd get all this energy and I just never did. I stopped throwing up at 16 weeks, but I was on anti-nausea meds and if I didn't take them I knew about it. For me, the third tri has been much easier. Hope you start to feel better soon!

I remember with my first pregnancy, I got to about 15 to 16 weeks and thought "oh wow, I haven't been nauseous for a day or so" and from that point on it got better. The tired gets a little better too, with my second pregnancy I didn't randomly fall asleep on the couch. So, just hang in there! It will get a little better :)

I hardly had any sickness at all in the 1st trimester. Now that I am in the 2nd, 14 weeks, it is starting. I am sleeping worse too. Nothing helps me sleep. My restless leg syndrome is a lot worse.

I am bummed I thought the 2nd was the honeymoon phase!! Hoping things get better!!

I'm also a little worried because a side effect of all this nausea means my diet is... sad.
I only eat one meal a day because that's all I can handle, and even that has to be forced down. My meals also aren't the healthiest or most balanced, because I just have to eat whatever doesn't sound horrifying.

I slipped in the grocery store when I was 5 mths and almost did a full split. Needless to say I gave myself pelvic girdle syndrome from the "rapid" abduction and had to see a chiropractor the rest of my pregnancy just to be able to walk. So yea... it got worse. lol

I kept waiting for my second trimester, but it's here and nothing has gotten better yet.

In fact, I think it might be worse. My nausea is SO bad, and exhaustion is still hanging around all day. I had to sit down like four times in the aisle just to get through the grocery store, and carry around bags in case I had to throw up while shopping.

At the moment, I'm laying in bed with my sea-bands on and sniffing a bottle of peppermint oil.

Maybe it's still early, but I'm getting worried that it will never go away. I'm 14 weeks, and life currently sucks.
