I have a trac fone and I love it! I know they have really cheap phones, but you might find it worth it to buy a more expensive phone that has a perk like triple minutes. For my phone, every minute I buy, I get three. Totally worth it over the life of the phone. And the minutes don't "expire" per se, your service can expire (you get days of service with the minutes that you buy.) But as long as you have days of service, the minutes are good.

I have a monthly plan, where every month they charge me $11, and I get 150 minutes (50 min. x3.) I bought some extra minutes as a buffer, but this is perfect for me.

I do not use any data/internet, I don't know what the service is like for that. But for calls and texts it is great.

My parents have them. While there is no yearly fee, the minutes do expire. However, I think the minutes are good for a couple of months before they expire.

I am trying to cut costs and our wireless bill is huge! We pay for my MIL's plan and its $35 a month right now.

I saw that Trac phones are only $9.99 at walmart and then you buy mins. Is that all there is to it? Is there a yearly fee? Activation fee? Anything else I should know?

Thanks!
