We got one for my dad and he really liked doing lettuces in it. With it being just him and my mom they could use it a few times a week for salad which was convenient.

We have three! We don't have it going right now, but love it when we do. We have done different herbs, tomatoes, and lettuce.

I have one. The initial herb kit all grew nicely and I thought they tasted fine. I bought organic seeds for my next round and planted them in the grow pods and they also grew nicely. You can also grow flowers, which is cool.

@SleepyMonkey: Oh, interesting. I did google it and some people said for things like cucumbers, it needs to be grown at a certain condition or else it will taste bitter and bad. So it could be the way it is grown in water and not soil. I should ask my sister if she's noticed the flavor.

My sister did say that she's used the Aerogarden to seed or start the growing process, then she'll move it to her garden outside.

@bluestriped bee: i think it was the way it grows - in water rather than dirt. i feel like its missing certain nutrients or something. i'm not really sure, but i do remember being disappointed at how flavorless everything was. hopefully they've improved upon the design since then!

@SleepyMonkey: Oh, really?? It was tasteless? That's not good. You think it was the seeds they gave you or the way it grows by lights?

i had one a few years ago and it grew various herbs...we grew it for one "season" and then it went out into the closet...and never came out again. our herbs were pretty tasteless unfortunately.

My sister got one for me and my other sister for Christmas. My other sister started hers right after and mine is still in the box. We moved at the beginning of the year then went on vacation, so there wasn't a need to start it up.

I need to get it out and start growing something.
